Andy from AndyWatches Movies writes reviews about movie he recently watches. This reblog is his review on Pulp Fiction. I like it when movie bloggers review Pulp Fiction, because everyone has a different experience with it. It’s such a unique film that it’s definitely interesting seeing what people say about it. I liked his words about ‘simple in theory yet complex in execution’. I like that particular line especially because I find that Pulp Fiction has 3 very simple story lines [like the one’s he outlined], yet are shown to us in such a distinct and stylish manner that has become largely known to us as Tarantino-chic. Anywho, take a peak at his blog and the full review. Congrats on the Reblog Andy, keep on reviewing movies!

Pulp Fiction tells the tales of several different completely different, but completely intertwining events.
It would be impossible for me to detail the entirety of Pulp Fiction’s plot(s) in just one paragraph so I’ll keep it high-level. Story line #1: There are two robbers (Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer) at a diner planning to rob it. Story Line #2: Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) both work for Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) as hit men, and Vincent has to take Marsellus’ wife, Mia (Uma Thurman),out. Story Line #3: Marsellus tries to fix a fight with boxer, Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis). All of these story lines intersect at least once, continuously adding to the cast of memorable characters.
While not his first film, Pulp Fiction is what firmly placed Quentin Tarantino as a name to watch and remains high on the favorites list of many. Pulp Fiction
Parks and Recreation is definitely one of the best comedies on air. It has some of the best characters ever created and the writing is so good. One of the results of the amazing writing is the creation of one of the best towns in the world, Pawnee. I even wrote about why the town is so awesome. One of the running jokes is how Pawnee’s signs and slogans have changed over the years. Appreciate a visualization of these slogan names below.
Welcome to a Minecraftian pixelized version of Westeros, from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. Incredibly detailed stills in the album speak for themselves, almost perfectly representing their counterparts in the opening sequence quite well. The amount of depth and effort put into something like this must have been immense, so hopefully you enjoy both the server and the album that includes many pictures from the landscape.
If there’s anything Weekend Funnies have taught me, is that not everyone has the same sense of humor. But the internet is a generally a collection of everyone and the sheer compilation of the wit and humor that each individual contributes essentially represents the most broadest and generalist appeals to mankind. So when I choose the 24 images for each Weekend Funny, I know the reason I think it’s funny will be at least funny to some percentage of the world. And even if the it’s the smallest 1%, 1% of 7 billion is still 700 million. So I apologize if you’re offended, disgusted, or upset. Truth be told, if you can’t handle these 24 images, you likely shouldn’t be on the internet anyways. So stop worrying about racism, sexism, and other means of being upset. Just keep scrolling, and remember: no one’s looking, it’s okay to smile at something someone would frown upon.
Editors Note: Why is it on Friday? Because I couldn’t finish Friday’s article. It’s a doozey. A 2000 word plus article. I’ll have it published by Saturday! Thanks for bearing with me guys.
It’s been confirmed that Bruce Willis has signed on for another Die Hard movie, titled ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’. The thing is, their marketing campaign is something we’ve already seen. One of the first posters released for the upcoming movie has something very similar about it…Oh wait, it’s the same exact poster. Hit the jump to Filmdrunk to see their take on the matter.
Sean Izaakse drew this super badass rendition of Toy Story heroes and it got made into a legitimate toy! These toys are what realistic space marines and hardened cowboys are supposed to look like, but having the skins of the unforgettable duo, Woody and Buzz, makes it all that much better. Now I gotta ask, where is Jessie as the sexy femme fatale? See the original rendition below.
College Humor has created another hilarious video. This one is a hypothetical situation where Bruce Banner and his girlfriend are getting a little frisky. She wants one thing, he wants something else, and what ensues is pretty hilarious. Not to mention fairly well done. I understand that these days College Humor is pretty well established and they have quite the budget to play with, but CGI of this caliber ain’t that bad.
With the new DLC just under a week from launch, I figured I’d take the time to outline the basics of what we’ll be getting come next Tuesday. For those hardcore Mass Effect multiplayer fans out there, there is hope. With the new Earth DLC we should be getting a slew of new content that will cater to everyone. With a new character for each class, a few new maps, and a few new guns, this update will keep the battlefields interesting for a long time to come. I’m personally very excited for the upcoming patch, and hopefully after reading the details of this article, you will be too. The character information as well as their skill lists will be included at the end of the article. Continue Reading »
We’re at the point where all the networks start hyping up their fall line ups. Fox was one of the first major ones, showing what shows they were airing and when. The biggest shows to be receiving hype are the Mindy Project, Glee, The X Factor, Animation Domination Sunday, and New Girl. Collider has an article listing all of the shows and their corresponding line ups. The trailers are out, and I’ll eventually watch them and see which ones I’ll bother keeping up with. I’ll let you know when I get there. And they also say something about Kevin Bacon’s new show…So yes, I’ll definitely be watching that.
Did You Know Gaming is an amazing tumblr-like website that updates everyday with a random tid-bit about gaming. To both the hardcore and casual gamers, these little facts and trivia pieces about some of our beloved games range from thoughtful nods to jaw dropping moments. I’ve compiles a couple of my favorites, but you should do yourself a favor and check out the website itself to view dozens upon dozens of random facts about your favorite games.
In addition to the images posted before concerning the ever so popular realm of geek, here’s a new image that displays the ‘evolution of the geek’ ranging from time periods to topics. It’s an incredibly detailed picture with a lot of depth and multiple genres for you to pick and associate with if you so choose. This goes far beyond the typical ‘Star Trek vs Star Wars’ geekdom we’re used to seeing, and it’s incredibly refreshing to see that ‘geek’ isn’t a label for elitism nor is it a name to call kids who just don’t fit in. I’m fairly certain that everyone can associate with this picture in one way or another, or at the very least I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.
I’ve finally caught up with FX’s Louie to season 3 and there are a lot of feelings. Louie is not your traditional comedy. It doesn’t play by the rules of other sitcoms. The lead character is probably on the bottom of the tv totem poll of lead characters in terms of looks or glamour. There is no useless eye candy of a character to buy in its viewers. The jokes aren’t as obvious. And the it’s definitely one of the harder shows to watch on regular programming. But while these things are often used as a means to berate any given show, these are actually Louie’s strengths.
Louis C.K. the creator and star of the show says that this show of his is set around 5 years before he claims to ‘have made it big’, when he was a semi-struggling comic tasked with raising his kids from a joint custody divorce. He’s overweight, balding, and is awkward in social situations. His life has its ups and downs [mostly downs], but Louie seems to have a certain…’code’ he lives to. And when the absurdities of society humanity try to warp and influence his code, he’s put in a fixed position: conform or defy. Much of the optimism in a relatively dark show is displayed through these moments when Louis stays true to himself, but one of the show’s [few] problems is that it takes so long to get there, it’s difficult to stay along for the ride to wait for the punchline [which is ironically no punchline in some cases]. All in all, Louie boils down to many hard truths that are difficult to hear, but resonate with profound meaning…all while making us laugh at some of the situations he’s put into. Check out my review and some of the highlights of what is definitely one of the smarter TV shows on air right now.
There are a lot of awesome slapping moments in television. Definitely the most memorable in my head are the Chapelle Show’s Charlie Murphy vs. Rick James slaps and of course, Game of Thrones Joffrey slaps. Warming Glow has compiled these and about 18 more photos of famous slapping scenes in television. Be sure to check it out…that or watch Cersei slap the mess out of Joffrey here. I can just sit here forever and watch that little sh!t get what’s coming to him.
Breaking Bad is less than a week away. I stand by saying that it’s the best television series on air. The pretense is engulfing, the drama intense, and the characters extremely engrossing. This video essentially sums up 4 amazing seasons and it’s easy to see Walter White’s dark descent into the criminal underworld. Attached to the classically amazing Requiem for a Dream soundtrack, I dare this video to not send shivers up your spine.
Well talk about nerdcore. Take Wiz Khalifa’s addictive beat from Black and Yellow and replace ‘You know what it is’ with ‘House Baratheon’, and you’ve got quite possibly one of the nerdiest things you could ever do with a song. I’m not going to rat on these guys too much, because I personally think what they did was really awesome, clever, and neat, but if truth be told, they look EXACTLY like what people think of as ‘people who read the Song of Ice and Fire series’. Regardless, I’m really hoping they come out with an entire album for all the houses and respective raps. I’ll keep some tabs on this.
The changes keep coming here at Banana Scoop. I’m trying to stay on top of things more than ever now a days. It seems like we’re gathering much of the strength we haven’t had in a while, and I’m hoping that’s a good thing. By no means is that a reason to stop. I’m using the momentum we’re gaining as a fuel. I’m finding all my old contacts of blog circles and updating my information to get the Scoop out there as much as possible. Besides these updates, there are a couple of announcements I’d like to mention. Read below for some of the highlights and the pertaining details.
The Opening of the Live Discussion Page
The Live Discussion Page, located at the top, is a place where casual conversation about ANYTHING can happen. I’ll gladly partake in the conversation and I hope you will partake in any other threads we have going on. Movies, TV, love lives, anything you wanna get off our chest to the internet world is in your grasp. Wordpress only allows 10 indentations per post, so if discussions get wildy, just create a new thread for us to go off of. I’ve already started if off by asking what you guys are watching on television this summer. Go here now and get involved!
Cracked took apart 5 movies where characters had tattoos and found them contradictory to the stories. They took the movie producer’s attempts to be badass/meaningful/colorful and completely sat them on their asses. Sounds like class Cracked to me. I’ve always been wary of tattoos, as when they’re cool when you’re young, they can sag and become nasty as you get older. And I always thought it even worse when people had tattoos of Chinese symbols when the only time they’ve ever read Chinese was when they were Googling the translation for their tattoo.
A while back, I posted a neat article about how Sean Bean dies a lot and the soundtrack that followed it. The soundtrack came from a video game called Dead Island and I posted the trailer that went with it. Probably a trailer that’s more emotional than majority of Hollywood trailers out there, I simply had to look into it more. Then I found that IGN, a popular video game review site actually fixed the chronological order just for funsies. It may lose some of the emotional blow it once had, but it was still kinda neat.
There’s a funny collection of videos online regarding the infamously infuriating game Mario Party. Throughout the series, the AI characters have been known to be notoriously dumb in some of the mini game challenges. So this collection of videos has a character doing absolutely nothing and winning a vast majority of mini games. The funny part is that they’re all done with Luigi. Luigi, who’s known to be the character who usually gets the second hand for everything is ironically winning for once. Here’s a collection of all the videos ranging from Mario Party 2-9.
Spring TV may be over, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop talking about it. With most television shows, I often fall in love with some of the leads, which lends it itself to about a thick 30-40% of why I’d watch any given television show, with story and humor/drama being the other 30% or so each. So today, I kinda compiled some of my favorite crushes from this past season and some of the reasons why I fell so hard for them.
The criteria of why I chose some of the women include the following: 1) Attractiveness – most people in this industry are fairly attractive. From this category, I’m looking for unique looking people who behold beauty in their own special way. 2) Personality – Most of the people on this list will make me laugh. It’s truly the gateway into most men’s heart. And when you have to choose from a list of all beautiful looking women, character personality is a good way to divide the lines. 3) Plot Driving – Whether they’re actually essential to the story or just a pretty face is kinda important to me. It makes it so much more intimate when the characters you care for actually mean something to story. 4) Fashion Sense – I’m a self confirmed Metrosexual, so I value the way women look and carry themselves. Their choice in wardrobe is very important to me.
Each girl will be based on a scale of 1-5 for each category. However, each girl only has 15 points to be spent on the four categories, so I had to choose carefully. Read below how I rated all my crushes.
