I absolutely love these Pixar shorts.  They’re usually released alongside a major Pixar film, and I love going through all of them every once in a while.  They’re so beautifully made and have such quirky stories.  I’ve compiled some of the more recent [and available] ones on Youtube.  I know I’m mixing Luxo Jr., Tin Toy, and Geri’s Game, Night and Day, among others, but the ones I did compile below are still very cool and adorable to watch.  Enjoy!

This is a really cool link to Tecca who have compiled 10 awesome recut trailers to movies.  We’re not just talking about flipping a few words around or even a simple mash up here or there, these re-cuts completely change the genre.  Take for example, the Incredibles trailer I posted above, this trailer highlights the death of Dash and the effect it has had on the family.  The trailer is absolutely chilling and plays a horror movie so well that I would totally watch that movie.  “Do you know where he is?”

Seriously, check out that trailer and the rest of them at Tecca.  Don’t believe me?  The first one is turning the Shining into a family film.  Crazy right?

Pixar is the front runner for promising animated films of this generation.  Classic Disney was the front runner for giving us the best animation of the 1900s.  It seems Disney and its acquisitions have always given us the most memorable animated movies that we watched when we were children and will recommend our children to watch as we grow older.  So finding a great animated feature that doesn’t have the production title Disney, is indeed a rare gem.  I tried to find as much range as possible.  Please remind me if I missed any.  Hit the jump for the list.
