At San Diego Comic Con, there were a lot of news bombs dropped in terms of movies, television, and books. AMC released an amazingly well put together trailer for season 4 of the Walking Dead. Season 3 and show runner Glenn Mazarra took an amazing step forward in realizing what the Walking Dead had the potential to be, but after differences between book creator, Robert Kirkman and Glenn Mazarra, the show let Mazarra go.
Scott Gimple took the reins, who is credited for some of the show’s strongest episodes such as Sophie’s status after the barn and Rick’s memorable reencounter with the psychologically damaged Morgan. This has already created potential for making season 4 the strongest season yet. And as a book reader, I have quite the idea of what this season will be centered on.
If you do not want to be spoiled, LEAVE NOW before I ruin the show for you. Once again, this article/discussion is only for book readers and those who want to be spoiled.

So I stumbled upon a rather interesting collection of artwork featuring famous animated characters re-imagined as zombies. While keeping most of their cartoon glory, they have been re-purposed with a rather sinister objective. They now exist solely to munch on your brains. While not all that scary, I found the artwork to be incredibly well done and very thematic in some places. For example, Buzz Lightyear lacking blood and having wiring instead or Master Chief seemingly infected by the flood parasites. It’s an incredibly interesting album worth checking out. Some of the characters are obviously named incorrectly as you’ll soon find out, but I won’t rag on the author of the article for his misdemeanor as I truly enjoyed the art.

A while back, I posted a neat article about how Sean Bean dies a lot and the soundtrack that followed it. The soundtrack came from a video game called Dead Island and I posted the trailer that went with it. Probably a trailer that’s more emotional than majority of Hollywood trailers out there, I simply had to look into it more. Then I found that IGN, a popular video game review site actually fixed the chronological order just for funsies. It may lose some of the emotional blow it once had, but it was still kinda neat.

The Walking Dead redeemed itself in its season 2 finale. And from everything I’m hearing it’s gearing up to be the most exciting plot line next. Warming Glow has compiled a list of 3 reasons why: the new characters introduced. We got a glimpse at one of them, the sword wielding figure in the hood, but who are the others? Click below and find out why the Walking Dead may have its best season yet.

This is a long time coming. I’ve recently been getting more and more into books. This truly started around my birthday in February when I bought all 5 existing Song of Ice and Fire novels and crushed 4/5 of them in about 4 months. Now-a-days, I’ve been trying to finish the 5th book and I can’t stop but already get excited to start writing about it. Then I realized that I don’t actually have a books section to put it in and putting it under ‘television’ where Game of Thrones technically exists wouldn’t seem right. So instead, I’m creating a new category for the occasion. Below, I’ve posted some other novels, comic books, and graphic novels that I’m also heavily interested in once I wrap up Game of Thrones. I’ll be more than happy to take all of your recommendations!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a post relating vampire movies worth your while. I got a lot of support and feedback on that, so I turned to another monster genre that held it’s own for it’s success. Zombie movies are generally a lot different from the general vampire movie. While vampire movies are more based on the ideas of eternal love, the sexual aspect of blood sucking, and the drama of hiding from the light, zombie movies are more related to the strength of human kind in the face of Apocalypse and the bad-assery of killing as many zombies as possible. Hit the jump for the list of awesome zombie movies. I apologize for missing some, especially any really early zombie movies.
