One of my favorite sites, Warming Glow, is equally angry at the Emmy release of nominations. Hooray Leslie Knope was nominated…but not Best Comedy nor a Supporting Actor for Ron Swanson? Yes Mr. Swanson, We do hate everything. Hit the link for 10 gifs of our favorite Parks and Recreations characters reacting negatively. Fall TV needs to come back for more Parks and Rec.

This is a really cool parody of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”. The lyrics have been tastefully changed to cater to a longtime Star Wars fan who believes George Lucas had sold out and ruined the franchise with the newer movies. Besides the lyrics, what’s better is that the actual singers seem to actually have decent voice. And better yet is the close replication of the music video itself, which must’ve had a costly production value.

Without a doubt, in my experience, one of video game’s most fearsome enemy, the Creeper, may simply be misunderstood. The motive behind any animal force essentially sacrificing itself for a chance at killing you is definitely worth looking into. From my understanding, zombies want to eat you guts, spiders want to eat your guts, and skeleton warriors may also wanna eat your guts. But the motive behind this creature who kills you for no known benefit is a tougher cookie to crack. There have been images where they claim Creepers as the protectors of the lands who take out punks who are digging holes, cutting trees, and slaughtering wild life like you out. They’re possibly defending the land and their own children from you. Maybe you’re the video game industry’s biggest enemy. As a being you’ve killed probably millions of fictional characters, so maybe you’re the one that’s a monster and not this cuddly green…thing.
Anywho, below are two more adorable images of Creepers. Thanks to Deviant Artists everywhere for their imaginative renditions.

Maintenance Alert! Time to learn what the scoop is on Banana Scoop. It’s a relatively light week this week. This newsletter primarily talks about school coming soon and how things will change in response to that. Read on below for all the latest news with us.
School Incoming Means Less Banana Scoop
Truth be told, I’m both excited and distraught that school is starting soon. I get to move back out of my parent’s house, live autonomously for a year, be in the company of other intellectuals, watch a ton of movies and television, party every once in a while, etc.. But there’s one drawback…it’s fcking school. Studying, studying, studying is the other end of the spectrum. Huffington Post just recently labeled Georgia Tech as the 24th best University in the World and while I’m definitely proud of that, it entails how competitive the school must be to keep that ranking.
So when all the studying comes around, I’ll likely have less time to do Banana Scoop which means there will be a break or two every couple of months during the hard test weeks. I’ll do my best to stay on top of things, but you know how things catch up. I do have a solution or two in mind…which brings me to my next point.

I love television. But I sometimes don’t realize not everyone is as fortunate as I am to have access to all the television. Happy Endings, Jon Stewart, Louis CK, HBO, and more is technically all American Television. Morning Glow has compiled a list of 20 gifs that encompass the best of American TV well. Be sure to check out the list and if you like even half of the shows on the list, you should check out the rest because they’lll likely fit your taste as well.

Now this is a cool clip. This is a fan-made [I wish I could credit, but it’s so hard these days, someone please remind me if they know] storyboard of how they would include the Joker in [SPOILERS] ……..the scene where Bane releases the inmates of Blackgate and possibly Arkham Asylum ………….[END SPOILERS]. The article had the following subtitles:
Bane: Who’s in there
Henchman: The Clown
Bane: …Leave him
There was a lot of debate in whether or not if the Clown Prince of Crime were included on what his role was, and I think this could of settled a good reason as to why he wasn’t present if he were to be included. Your thoughts?

This is a popular t-shirt. The concept is simple and doesn’t really need to be explained. Combining James Cameron’s iconic with one of classical musics leading men. Only after seeing this did I try to come up with popular movie ‘back’ puns.
Bach to the Future
Never Bach Down
Star Wars Ep. IV: The Empire Strikes Bach
The Hobbit: There and Bach Again
Bachstreet Boys
Some one make shirts for all these. And someone come up with more. Let me hear the puns in the comments!

Breaking Bad was on last night and it finally looks like we got to some cooking. A relatively calm episode in terms of crime drama, but we do have some personal stories mixed in. The calm before the storm I think. A storm that will definitely be rocking me side to side. So as of right now, I’m taking in all of this set up and awaiting the climax of the season which should hit us within the next two episodes. Here’s my review of the episode below. Be sure to be aware of spoilers! Because they’re everywhere.

I love this list. This list compiles some very ugly characters on televisions and takes a look at their real life actress portrayals. We’ve featured one of the players on this list, Thesy Surface. You’ll also see Crazy Kitty from Arrested Development, Bird-like Dee Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. We absolutely love showcasing attractive women here, so be sure to hit the link and see the prettier sides of actresses.

Another week on Banana Scoop. What’ve we got cooked up this week huh? Anything special? As you all have heard, we do Maintenance Reports every other week, so since last week was a regular article, there’ll be a report this week telling you all about some new stuff we got coming along. In addition to that, read on below to see what all the buzz is.
Star Wars Parody Songs
Star Wars will always be a pop culture homing beacon. You can find anything popular today and I guarantee it’s been Star War-ized for parody in some universe. Let’s just say we’ve got more than one music video scheduled this week.
A Dance With Dragons Book Review
995 pages, tiny ass text, and practically zero spacing later, I’ve finally finished Dance with Dragons. As I finished Dance with Dragons, I joined millions of other avid fans who await, await, await the sixth book. This week will feature my review on the book [and possibly the Song of Ice and Fire series so far]. Until then, write George R. R. Martin, write!
The Creeper is Simply a Misunderstood Creature
You’re all familiar with my brush with Minecraft. The game’s signature enemy has something deeper to it. Maybe it doesn’t like the fact you’ve decided to stroll into his world and dig/cut/mine your way through his home. Maybe sacrificing himself is the only way to truly get you to leave. Maybe you’re actually the bad guy in this scenario. Stay tuned to find out.
Katie Holmes is Still Attractive and Now Single!
So yeah, there’s been a very popular spit up between Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise. Which mean’s Katie Holmes is back on the market. She’s always been the most adorable kind of cute and sexy and this week, we just might celebrate that 😉
American TV is the Best
This is just the truth. We have the best dramas, best networks, and best comedies. Find out why [in a satirical manner] later this week..

The beautiful product of Adobe Illustrator. This project took about 8 hours. When I was working with only Photoshop, I never did anything this distinct, clean, or clear as this. Illustrator just takes things to a whole new level. Shadows are easier, lines are clearer, and organizing is all around better. I’m very excited if this is my first real work with Illustrator, I can only get better right? I’ll keep you all posted as I continue to draw art like this.

I went to the movies at 9 in the morning. Pretty sure that’s the earliest screening I’ve ever been to. Anyway, when I came home, my son immediately punched me in the balls. Honestly. I think he was trying to give me a hug, but was looking away, and he slugged me right in the junk. Likely, he meant well, but his grand gesture of adoration went awry and ended up a painful moment of shock and disappointment.
If you haven’t gotten it by now, I was crushed with disappointment after seeing The Dark Knight Rises. Oh, that was obvious? Well, if you’ve seen this movie, you know that everything must be explained and shown fully to occur. I’m just following suit.
I went into full-on internet lockdown when it came to reviews (or even images) concerning the third film in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. This was going to be hands down the movie of the summer, if not of all time. You can laugh at the absurdity of that all you want, but I was f–king hyped. And when I left the damn-near three-hour epic, I was in shock not only because the movie it wasn’t even close to being that good, I honestly felt for a minute that it wasn’t good at all.
Read the rest of this witty, well structured, review at Two Dollar Cinema. You’ll find here points that bring up plot holes and inconsistencies that don’t necessarily take away from the movie, but are definitely a good point or two to bring up before always blindly praising the film [much like I did to admit].
About 230/270 critics on Rotten Tomatoes deemed the Dark Knight Rises as a ‘good’ movie. There was a neat uprising about a guy a couple of weeks ago who wrote a negative review who was so absurd in his points, that he was beginning to get death threats. Now, the United States is a free country where you can say what you like without the fear of being attacked or put down, so this idea was absolutely insane. Now today’s Weekend Reblog is something a little bit different. I send you to Two Dollar Cinema, one of my longtime blogger friends, who writes a legitimate ‘negative’ review on his blog. While he certainly doesn’t hate the movie, he does definitely brings up some good points and says, “TDKR was like a girlfriend that dumped me. All of a sudden I’m pissed about all the little things, but before I looked right passed them. ” That’s the kind of humor you’ll find over there. So check it out!
This reblog is a little different because he hails from rival blogging domain Blogger, but blogging friendship extends beyond that. To get Weekend Reblogged, simply comment on any article between this post and next week to enter a pool of possibly getting reblogged. I’ll look at recently posted articles that catch my attention. If there’s anything Weekend Funnies have taught me, is that not everyone has the same sense of humor. But the internet is a generally a collection of everyone and the sheer compilation of the wit and humor that each individual contributes essentially represents the most broadest and generalist appeals to mankind. So when I choose the 24 images for each Weekend Funny, I know the reason I think it’s funny will be at least funny to some percentage of the world. And even if the it’s the smallest 1%, 1% of 7 billion is still 700 million. So I apologize if you’re offended, disgusted, or upset. Truth be told, if you can’t handle these 24 images, you likely shouldn’t be on the internet anyways. So stop worrying about racism, sexism, and other means of being upset. Just keep scrolling, and remember: no one’s looking, it’s okay to smile at something someone would frown upon.

This website is no stranger to awesome Game of Thrones parodies. This is a video that is a sequel to a popular video from College Humor that rendered Game of Thrones season 1 into a 8-bit RPG game. I had posted the video before and can be rewatched at the bottom of this page. Like the first video, it makes fun of some of the absurdities of the season but drives in some rather good point in terms of what should’ve been represented versus what was. You’ll have to watch to see for yourself, but there are some NSFW stuff, so be careful.

I don’t know how many of you will look forward to this, but for some odd reason I find this game incredibly interesting. Castle Story is a game by Sauropod studios based on creating a castle and defending it against enemies. I can’t really say much more than that as I don’t know the full story myself, but rest assured that it looks to be an amazing game. If you want to contribute to this game, I’ve left a link to the kickstarter below.

The settlers must’ve had tough time settling on any land. We’re all read about it in the history books. You come with essentially nothing but your own hands, and you’re expected to create a profitable civilization in which you culture growth, safety, and prosperity. There are many video games like that, where you build from the ground up. Many of those being similar to Farmville or Tiny Tower types. The type where you have nothing and then through many hours of tapping and harvesting, you create a somewhat sustainable living ground which you can then decorate and personalize. Queue Minecraft.
Minecraft is a survival/creation game where you essentially start as a settler in an unknown, untamed land. There you must build a fortress to protect yourself from the hazard of the wildlife. Cut trees, dig holes, forge tools, do whatever it takes to survive. In the process, you create a home for yourself in which you grow crops, mine jewels and ores, and live as prosperously as your own merit and skill can take you. Below is a review on this addicting game that despite it’s simple design and objective, gives me one of the most pleasurable, emotional, heartbreaking, and back-neck-hair raising experiences I’ve ever had in a game.

First off, Ron Perlman is one hell of a guy. When Perlman caught wind of a terminal child wanting to be dressed like Hellboy for the Make a Wish Foundation, he took it upon himself to dress up with him, donning the infamous horns and fist to hang out with this little boy. He’s all around awesome for doing this, and this story makes me feel all fuzzy inside. I absolutely loved Hellboy and I like Ron Perlman even more now because of him doing this.
And this act of kindness got director Guillermo del Toro thinking of another Hellboy movie, which would be AWESOME, considering I loved those movies. Check out the link below to see what del Toro had to say.

The Dark Knight Rises continue to dominate this week’s posts with more and more awesome things surfacing. Whilst looking back at the Dark Knight trailer for old time goosebumps, I stumbled upon this well done trailer to the entire trilogy. The monologue fits beautfiully and hearing ‘ol Heath’s voice is near spine chilling. This trailer truly encompasses not just Batman, but the growth and journey of Bruce Wayne. The trailer itself is about 6 minutes long but is absolutely entrancing to watch. It includes clips from all three movies and fits so beautifully together. Stop reading this and seriously press the play button. And then when you’re done, press play again.

Jon Arnbuckle. We know him as the goofy, loveless, and unfortunate owner of Garfield and Odie. Most of the time, Jon has witiful banter with his cat Garfield that has so famously been immortalized by Jim Davis. But artist Dan Walsh has done something incredible by removing his usual partner in crime of the comics, Garfield, from the panels. What we have left is a look into who Jon really is. By removing Garfield, it appears that Jon Arnbuckle is a lonely man in critical need of attention. His speech bubbles left untouched, most of the time Jon looks as though he’s talking to himself or validating himself. It surprisingly works incredibly well and produces some hilarious situations. I’ve compiled some of my favorites below, but definitely visit GarfieldMinusGarfield.net for the full website.

So this has been a long time coming, but I never really mustered up the courage to play Amnesia until quite recently. It had been installed on my computer for a few months until I finally said “I can do this.” and just manned up. Anyway, I won’t really cover gameplay and the like since there isn’t much to talk about. I may gloss over it at some point to explain to the general public what this game is all about. For now, however, I’ll just cover the atmospheric and graphical content of this masterpiece of thriller/horror games. Without further ado, below is my review of Amnesia. Continue Reading »
