A small and short video for ya’ll demonstrating how awesome Nathan Fillion. Claimed geek god by many for his portrayal of the unforgettable Malcolm Reynolds in one season of Firefly and the awesome movie Serenity, Nathan Fillion is known for generating plenty of antics as seen in the video above. During a dramatic scene, Fillion decides to carry dramatic in one camera pan across the entire crew. Appearing several times with a dead pan expression. Some actors can’t handle it, but the ending is especially nice. If you’re a fan of Firefly or Serenity, do yourself a favor and watch the clip. If you’re not, do yourself a favor and watch both the series and movie and become a part of a Cult group that will be forever angry at the early death of a beloved show.

Ron F*cking Swanson: All American Beef
Posted in Character Profiles, Television, tagged Amy Poehler, fan art, Leslie Knope, NBC, Nick Offerman, Parks and Recreation, Ron Swanson, sam on August 9, 2012| Leave a Comment »
From artist Sam Spratt, we have one of the greatest images ever created in the history of man kind. Ron Swanson is quite possibly the the embodiment of the All-American Hero. He is an avid fan of meat, he has a strict code in dress, hair style, and personal effects, he can do practically anything given some wood and a hammer, and can catch fish with his bare hands. He’s likely also fought a bear and won. And that damn mustache. It’s so glorious that it makes me want to shed my own Filipino heritage for some nice full facial hair.
Anywho, back to the artist who has created the most badass rendition of Ron Swanson. Complete with both Tammy tattoos, a ridiculous but likely very true mustache chest hair, a ton of meat in the background, a Mulligan’s apron, and of course the Ron Swanson Pyramid of Greatness. I would kill for a conversation with Nick Offerman.
Write George R.R. Martin, Write

A Dance with Dragons was published in 2011. That means it’ll be at least 3 years later in2014 before we see Winds of Winter. Or so he claims. It’s not like he’s getting any younger either…or thinner. I usually don’t judge people for their lifestyle choices or general appearances, but when this series is at stake, it’s another thing entirely. We’ve featured a fan made music video, one about Baratheons sung to the tune of Black and Yellow, but this one isn’t so much a parody, but a fully original song [I’m horribly at music, it could be a parody of something]. The message is simple: George R.R. Martin needs to write quicker for the sake of his fans. The video itself is humorous, and decently choreographed at some parts with some good ‘ol slapstick.
Original Team Avatar All Grown Up

Avatar the Last Airbender was definitely one of the best animated series out there. The Legend of Korra took a leap of faith by taking a time skip of about 60+ years to see the repercussions of Avatar Aang and his friends’ actions. Though the Legend of Korra was definitely a great series, I couldn’t help but miss the old Team Avatar. Aang’s playful nature, Toph’s bad-girl antics, and Sokka’s comic relief were all things to be missed. Even their faces. We were lucky to get some flashbacks through Korra’s eyes to see how they were and even their voices. But we never got a look at Zuko or Katara at that age. So at Comic Con Nickelodeon released this awesome image of Team Avatar in full color all grown up. The image brings a large wave of nostalgia and I totally wish they could create an entire series revolving around them.
Fifty-One: Breaking Bad Review

Not a lot of Meth related drama on this week’s episode of Breaking Bad. Instead we focused a lot of the family drama between Walter and Skylar. This show definitely has its bad ass moments and heart thrilling scenes, but the acting is top notch. For this year’s Emmys, 4 cast members are nodded with a best actor nomination, and based on last night’s episode, they’re reeling up for another one. Read on for this week’s episode of Fifty-One. Major spoilers as always.

The Hunger Games Trilogy Review
Not just one, but all three books! These are a looking to be a short read, so I’ll have my review on the stories and Suzanne Collins’s writing style.

Team Avatar All Grown Up

Community and Scrubs are the Same Show

This is a cool image from Cracked that essentially shows how NBC’s Scrubs and Community are essentially the same show. The image itself is neat due to the fact that the calling cards for the community college kids and Sacred Heart Hospital are fairly well done. But the real wit is drawing up the similarities between the shows main characters. Some descriptions are broader than others, but a few truly hit the nail on the head. As soon as they start making Abed say, ‘Eagle!!!!’ once I’m out.
Gosh I miss Scrubs
Nick, Megan, and Alison Love Their Weed

Well this is a hella awesome photo. If I got by their street names, Annie, Ron, and Tammy 2 all seemingly love one thing a little too much. And while Tammy and Annie are clearly having a blast, Ron doesn’t seem to be phased. Shit’s probably too weak for a man like him. Anywho, this was a really cool photo that I stumbled upon and I thought it necessary to share it with you. And while Parks and Recreation is something to look forward to, can the same be said about Community. Sure, I’ll definitely tune in to see how different the show will be, but only because of that reason. The show won’t have the same quirkiness and wit as usual with Dan Harmon out of the picture.
Game of Thrones Pay Phone

A catchy, lovable parody of Maroon 5’s Pay Phone. The singer however does play the role of Adam Levine seeing as he mentions both The Voice and Maroon 5. The idea is he’s essentially addicted to Game of Thrones and sings about it in the tune of Pay Phone. He mentions plot points and explains some of the reasons why the series is so good. Like everyone else, he’s also confused who he should root for as well as he feels pity for some of the show’s victims. It’s an overall cute and quirky video that you should definitely check out for a neat foot tapper.

One of my favorite sites, Warming Glow, is equally angry at the Emmy release of nominations. Hooray Leslie Knope was nominated…but not Best Comedy nor a Supporting Actor for Ron Swanson? Yes Mr. Swanson, We do hate everything. Hit the link for 10 gifs of our favorite Parks and Recreations characters reacting negatively. Fall TV needs to come back for more Parks and Rec.

Happy Endings, Jon Stewart, Louis CK, HBO, and more is technically all American Television. Morning Glow has compiled a list of 20 gifs that encompass the best of American TV well. Be sure to check out the list and if you like even half of the shows on the list, you should check out the rest because they’lll likely fit your taste as well.

Breaking Bad was on last night and it finally looks like we got to some cooking. A relatively calm episode in terms of crime drama, but we do have some personal stories mixed in. The calm before the storm I think. A storm that will definitely be rocking me side to side. So as of right now, I’m taking in all of this set up and awaiting the climax of the season which should hit us within the next two episodes. Here’s my review of the episode below. Be sure to be aware of spoilers! Because they’re everywhere.

I love this list. This list compiles some very ugly characters on televisions and takes a look at their real life actress portrayals. We’ve featured one of the players on this list, Thesy Surface. You’ll also see Crazy Kitty from Arrested Development, Bird-like Dee Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. We absolutely love showcasing attractive women here, so be sure to hit the link and see the prettier sides of actresses.
Game of Thrones RPG, Season 2

This website is no stranger to awesome Game of Thrones parodies. This is a video that is a sequel to a popular video from College Humor that rendered Game of Thrones season 1 into a 8-bit RPG game. I had posted the video before and can be rewatched at the bottom of this page. Like the first video, it makes fun of some of the absurdities of the season but drives in some rather good point in terms of what should’ve been represented versus what was. You’ll have to watch to see for yourself, but there are some NSFW stuff, so be careful.

Comic Con was a week or two ago, and a lot of awesome stuff was revealed and announced. Amongst them was the casting announcement of several new characters to be featured in Game of Thrones Season 3 aka Storm of Swords. I absolutely love seeing some of these characters come alive to see if they fit the version I created in my head. Especially versus the how I originally was able to see them in season 1 before reading the books. Seeing the dude from Narnia be Jojen is a pretty good nail on the head, as well as Bryndon Tully. I was especially impressed with Melisandre and Davos Seaworthy casting, and I’m sure once the make up and costumes are on, I won’t be able to tell the difference at all. It’s all very exciting. As for an update with Dance with Dragons, I’m nearing the last 100 pages, a review is scheduled for next week!
Can’t believe we have to wait an entire year for season 3!!!

Breaking Bad is in full force and that mean a bunch of pop culture quips are emerging. Like this hilarious panorama of Hector Salamanca’s facial expressions. The man has seen a lot of things as we’ve seen in the past season. And he’s clearly been through a lot to make him that way. What a way to go Hector, what a way to go.
Pawnee.gov – Pawnee’s Real Life Site

I stumbled upon this awesome website for Pawnee, Indiana. It’s not as awesome as it could’ve been, where it’d include a .gov representing it’s ‘legitness’, but regardless, it’s still pretty good. I’d imagine being an intern at NBC and being told to build a separate website for Parks and Recreation. The website itself is fairly detailed, having full list of the employees at the department and more. There’s even Ron Swanson bit. Now I hardly doubt Nick Offerman wrote that article, but it’s still neat someone impersonating him. They even included an email address….now we’ll have to see if they actually respond.
Another day, I’ll definitely talk about the Knope Campaign website and it’s equal awesomeness….PARKS AND RECREATION NEEDS TO COME BACK NOW!

Things are moving quite along for Breaking Bad. Last season, we were given a look at who Gustavo Fring was and his motivations for things. This background look at a supporting character was spine tingling, haunting, and delicious. It appears that torch has passed onto Mike Ehrmantraut. I’d say about 75% [if not more] belonged to him and I have to admit I loved every minute. In this episode, we get a glimpse at a little bit of Walt and Jessie as well as a very key scene with Hank realizing something important. Discussion and spoilers below!
A Portal and Legend of Korra Mash Up
Posted in Television, Video Games, tagged Avatar, chell, glados, korra, legend of korra, portal, wheatley on July 20, 2012| 2 Comments »
Oh my goodness, I aboslutely love this. There are two references here: Portal and Legend of Korra. This is from one of the first episodes of Legend of Korra where Chief Beifong allows Korra to leave her prison cell, but not without leaving a message. And as Korra leaves, she fires a message right back. The genius is replacing the body art with skins from the portal series. Korra has become Chell and Chief Beifong as Glados.
What’s so great about this is because this interplay between the two characters from Legend of Korra resonate fairly well with the characters from Portal. The adorable [yet slightly weird] relationship between Chell and Glados is exactly how Korra treats Chief Beifong. I wish I could credit someone for something so great, but in all honesty, it’s so hard to find sources to unmarked GIFS such as these. If anyone knows please enlighten me.

Whilst surfing Warming Glow, they found this absurdly awesome collection of Breaking Bad rendered in Legos. Seeing as I love both Breaking Bad and Legos, this was an absolute must for sharing. And there is no better time than now when Breaking Bad has gloriously returned. So check out the gallery of my favorites below, and be sure to check Warming Glow for the full gallery. My only issue with it is that Jessie kind of has a quizzical and worried look. I wish there was a Lego head the looks like it would say, ‘YEAH B!TCH, MAGNETS!’
