It’s hard not loving Pixar movies. You’d have to be soulless to not absolutely fall in love with the creative and intriguing characters Pixar comes up with. Moviefone has done the ambitious ranking of nearly all the Pixar characters throughout the years. With nearly 118 contestants, it was a neat gallery going through and remembering all the crazy characters and the awesome voices that portrayed them. I’ve included the link starting from number 1, because in all honesty, who wants to scroll through 118 pictures. Guess who got the number one spot before you hit the link!

Morning Link: Out of Frame Movie References

Another one of Cracked.com’s photoplasties. This one was when they took popular movie scenes and added a couple of feet to the left, right, above, or below. With very hilarious results too. We have meta, ironic, satirical, witiful, and very entertaining contributions. Check it all out via the link below.
Star Wars Call Me Maybe

The second Star Wars music video of the week. But instead of unique lyrics to create a parody, we have a mash up of words to the addicting song ‘Call Me Maybe’ from Star Wars Franchise. For one, it surprisingly works and am shocked that some words actually show up in the trilogy that I never heard on my own. For two, how in the hell does someone do this? I can only think of one way that wouldn’t make me pull out my hair. I would get some voice detecting software like the one they have installed in Suri for iPhone and run it throughout the entire movie, scripting the words digitally. Then I would make a program to highlight certain words and time stamp for editors to go back to. In truth, it’s still a hair ripping out process that only a true dedicated fan would do. Anywho, check out the video above, and if any of you are more educated than I am in knowing how they did this, please feel free to let me know in the comments.
And the bouncing aliens that go with the tune is the icing on the cake.
Morning Link: Eerie Movie Predictions

Some movies are just plain creepy in what they predict. And leave it to Cracked.com writers to find out every little thing. For instance in the photo above. We have Keanu Reeves passport from the first Matrix. It seems his passport expires on a very infamous day, September 11, 2001. Now there can’t be any real meaning to that, but it’s still eerie that they arbitrarily chose a day and it turned out to actually mean something. Check out this instance any many more in the link below.
Gotye Star Wars – Star Wars That I Used to Know
Posted in Movies, tagged a new hope, Darth Vader, George Lucas, gotye, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, phantom menace, somebody that I used to know, Star Wars on July 31, 2012| Leave a Comment »
This is a really cool parody of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”. The lyrics have been tastefully changed to cater to a longtime Star Wars fan who believes George Lucas had sold out and ruined the franchise with the newer movies. Besides the lyrics, what’s better is that the actual singers seem to actually have decent voice. And better yet is the close replication of the music video itself, which must’ve had a costly production value.
A Fan Made Deleted Scene to the Dark Knight Rises: The Joker

Now this is a cool clip. This is a fan-made [I wish I could credit, but it’s so hard these days, someone please remind me if they know] storyboard of how they would include the Joker in [SPOILERS] ……..the scene where Bane releases the inmates of Blackgate and possibly Arkham Asylum ………….[END SPOILERS]. The article had the following subtitles:
Bane: Who’s in there
Henchman: The Clown
Bane: …Leave him
There was a lot of debate in whether or not if the Clown Prince of Crime were included on what his role was, and I think this could of settled a good reason as to why he wasn’t present if he were to be included. Your thoughts?

This is a popular t-shirt. The concept is simple and doesn’t really need to be explained. Combining James Cameron’s iconic with one of classical musics leading men. Only after seeing this did I try to come up with popular movie ‘back’ puns.
Bach to the Future
Never Bach Down
Star Wars Ep. IV: The Empire Strikes Bach
The Hobbit: There and Bach Again
Bachstreet Boys
Some one make shirts for all these. And someone come up with more. Let me hear the puns in the comments!
So That’s What It Feels like – A Well Written Negative Review on The Dark Knight Rises
Posted in Movies, Reviews on July 28, 2012| 3 Comments »
I went to the movies at 9 in the morning. Pretty sure that’s the earliest screening I’ve ever been to. Anyway, when I came home, my son immediately punched me in the balls. Honestly. I think he was trying to give me a hug, but was looking away, and he slugged me right in the junk. Likely, he meant well, but his grand gesture of adoration went awry and ended up a painful moment of shock and disappointment.
If you haven’t gotten it by now, I was crushed with disappointment after seeing The Dark Knight Rises. Oh, that was obvious? Well, if you’ve seen this movie, you know that everything must be explained and shown fully to occur. I’m just following suit.
I went into full-on internet lockdown when it came to reviews (or even images) concerning the third film in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. This was going to be hands down the movie of the summer, if not of all time. You can laugh at the absurdity of that all you want, but I was f–king hyped. And when I left the damn-near three-hour epic, I was in shock not only because the movie it wasn’t even close to being that good, I honestly felt for a minute that it wasn’t good at all.
Read the rest of this witty, well structured, review at Two Dollar Cinema. You’ll find here points that bring up plot holes and inconsistencies that don’t necessarily take away from the movie, but are definitely a good point or two to bring up before always blindly praising the film [much like I did to admit].
About 230/270 critics on Rotten Tomatoes deemed the Dark Knight Rises as a ‘good’ movie. There was a neat uprising about a guy a couple of weeks ago who wrote a negative review who was so absurd in his points, that he was beginning to get death threats. Now, the United States is a free country where you can say what you like without the fear of being attacked or put down, so this idea was absolutely insane. Now today’s Weekend Reblog is something a little bit different. I send you to Two Dollar Cinema, one of my longtime blogger friends, who writes a legitimate ‘negative’ review on his blog. While he certainly doesn’t hate the movie, he does definitely brings up some good points and says, “TDKR was like a girlfriend that dumped me. All of a sudden I’m pissed about all the little things, but before I looked right passed them. ” That’s the kind of humor you’ll find over there. So check it out!
This reblog is a little different because he hails from rival blogging domain Blogger, but blogging friendship extends beyond that. To get Weekend Reblogged, simply comment on any article between this post and next week to enter a pool of possibly getting reblogged. I’ll look at recently posted articles that catch my attention. Morning Link: Ron Perlman is the Best and Hellboy 3 Ideas
Posted in Books, Movies, tagged child, guillerm del toro, hellboy, make a wish, Ron Perlman on July 27, 2012| Leave a Comment »
First off, Ron Perlman is one hell of a guy. When Perlman caught wind of a terminal child wanting to be dressed like Hellboy for the Make a Wish Foundation, he took it upon himself to dress up with him, donning the infamous horns and fist to hang out with this little boy. He’s all around awesome for doing this, and this story makes me feel all fuzzy inside. I absolutely loved Hellboy and I like Ron Perlman even more now because of him doing this.
And this act of kindness got director Guillermo del Toro thinking of another Hellboy movie, which would be AWESOME, considering I loved those movies. Check out the link below to see what del Toro had to say.
The Dark Knight Rises Ultimate Trailer

The Dark Knight Rises continue to dominate this week’s posts with more and more awesome things surfacing. Whilst looking back at the Dark Knight trailer for old time goosebumps, I stumbled upon this well done trailer to the entire trilogy. The monologue fits beautfiully and hearing ‘ol Heath’s voice is near spine chilling. This trailer truly encompasses not just Batman, but the growth and journey of Bruce Wayne. The trailer itself is about 6 minutes long but is absolutely entrancing to watch. It includes clips from all three movies and fits so beautifully together. Stop reading this and seriously press the play button. And then when you’re done, press play again.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Zombie Movie Plot Holes

While everyone loves a good zombie movie, it’s a known fact that they don’t come without plot holes. Simple ideas such as “what happens when the zombies don’t eat for a long time” vs “Does getting bitten or scratched merit a zombification” are easily called upon. But of course the geniuses at Cracked have compiled an awesome list of gaping holes that not only occur in one movie, but all movies. Check out the list after the jump. Speaking of zombies we only have a couple of more weeks until Walking Dead Season 3!! And a couple more months until Brad Pitt’s World War Z!! We haven’t had a good zombie movie since Zombieland…
Batman Vs. The Riddler

College Humor has created one of the greatest web series out there, titled project “Badman”. This web series is essentially a parody of how ridiculous Batman can be. Batman is portrayed as an idiot in this series. It’s almost indescribable how awesome this is. There is definite comic gold in making fun of the way Batman speaks, and putting him in compromising situations is even better. Check out the entire playlist here.
Gotham’s Reckoning: The Dark Knight Rises Review

I’ve lived to only have seen one great trilogy. The Lord of the Rings trilogy set the bar high and absolutely astounded me from start to finish. Meaning all three movies lived up to their titles and I wasn’t disappointed by any of it. This past weekend, I’m proud to admit to adding another trilogy to that list. Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises is quite possibly the only way to end such a great trilogy. There haven’t been many great trilogies in our lives, not any as influential and culturally relevant as this trilogy. In addition to the recent Colorado incident, this will not be a movie I will soon forget.
The follow up to the Dark Knight might’ve cost Christopher Nolan the biggest undertaking ever placed on a director. That movie was simply a masterpiece, large in part to the late Heath Ledger. By merely meeting the audiences expectations, he would’ve accomplished something only so few people can. But of course, Christopher Nolan, who’s directing track record is nearly flawless, delivered and soared as to what can be said as the perfect way to end a trilogy. Minor spoilers below. Nothing back breaking. Or should I say Bat breaking. HA.
Bane and Batman Pal Around

The Dark Knight Rises will be popular for a while now, and we’ll continue to be promoting how awesome it is. Here’s a behind the scenes picture of Bane and Batman, aka Tom Hardy and Christian Bale having a talk after a scene. It’s awesome, especially because Tom Hardy had to express all his emotion through his eyes in the movie, and he’s doing it right now. I’m definitely sure that if you could Photoshop his eyes to make him look angry or even sad, this scene would be entirely different. A project that I’ll look back into later.
Morning Link: Minority Report Predicts the Future [Literally]

So apparently we live in a close enough future where point a light at someone will cause them to puke. Or where jetpacks might actually be considered as forms of travel. It’s amazing how some movies can predict what the future might hold. Who knows what young kids will watch in terms of futuristic movies and will later innovate. One perfect example of a movie is Minority Report. Every day we’re moving closer to their awesome touch screens and sound guns. Check out this article about which tools from the movie are actual tools in real life.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Batman Comics Worth Looking Into

As I stated before, I’ve been thinking of getting into comic books. Some of them include cult favorites like Watchmen and League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. But one I’ve been told over and over again to read by everyone who’s been blessed with reading it, is”The Killing Joke”. From what I hear, it’s what Heath Ledger took to when he was trying to get into the mind of the Joker. Besides from that one, UGO has compiled a list of some of best Batman comics out there.

This is a really cool video of the Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina music being played over the very infamous LMFAO Party Rock Anthem music video. The super odd part? It fits extremely well. I don’t know if they slowed it down or sped it up to match so perfectly, but it’s actually amazing how hilarious this fits in. I’ve included the original music video below, because despite how often that song was [used to be] played on the radio, the music video is still somewhat fun to watch.
The Avengers Gets Another Joss Whedon Opening

He’s absolutely more known for the Avengers, but let’s take another step back into something he’s done in the past. No, not Dollhouse, that weird prostitute show that starred the sexy Eliza Dushku. No not Buffy: The Vampire Slayer that pre-Twilight vampire crazed show that starred the sexy Sarah Michelle Gellar. But right inbetween there: Firefly. And that’s today’s awesome mash up that combines two of Joss Whedons ultimate babies. I’ve posted before what was already missing from the Avengers, and this is also very relevant.
In Firefly related news, I heard they had a panel and the San Diego Comic Con, where he teared up at the many fans who showed up. Dammit, what I’d give to get that show back on the air. For nostalgia sake, the original opening is below.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Best of the 40 Year Old Virgin

Besides from Tropic Thunder, The 40 Year Old Virgin is probably my favorite comedy. Like the article said, I think this is Judd Apatow’s best directed movie. I thought it was certainly the funniest and the one with the most heart. Funny People was oddly misguided and Knocked Up was funny, but not as funny as this. Warming Glow has compiled FORTY gifs of some of the best quotes from the movie. I absolutely loved scrolling through this gallery, and if you loved the movie, you will too.
