This is a really cool link to Tecca who have compiled 10 awesome recut trailers to movies.  We’re not just talking about flipping a few words around or even a simple mash up here or there, these re-cuts completely change the genre.  Take for example, the Incredibles trailer I posted above, this trailer highlights the death of Dash and the effect it has had on the family.  The trailer is absolutely chilling and plays a horror movie so well that I would totally watch that movie.  “Do you know where he is?”

Seriously, check out that trailer and the rest of them at Tecca.  Don’t believe me?  The first one is turning the Shining into a family film.  Crazy right?

Another one of Cracked.com’s photoplasties.  This one was when they took popular movie scenes and added a couple of feet to the left, right, above, or below.   With very hilarious results too.  We have meta, ironic, satirical, witiful, and very entertaining contributions.  Check it all out via the link below.

This is very similar to the Johnny Depp image I posted a week or two ago where his face is meshed into different roles.  What he have here is something slightly different, where we combine three of the most significant movie villains into one image.  It seems these three unforgettable characters all pose in the same, ‘I’ll rip out your own intestines and feed it to you’ type of death stare.  Regardless, maybe it’s more than enough reason to persuade you to watch all three of these movies again.  [For those who don’t know: it’s Alex DeLarge from A Clockwork Orange, The Joker from The Dark Knight, and Tyler Durden from Fight Club].  May these psychos find each other soon and plot to dominate the world.

M. Night Shyamalan used to be the master of the movie twist.  Everyone knows what happens in the Sixth Sense and I thought Unbreakable was pretty good.  But Complex has compiled 50 of the best twists.  And while I’m sure M. Night Shyamalan has left his mark, that just means there’s 40 more movies out there that are either better or just as good as his old stuff.  There will be no discussion of how he destroyed Avatar: The Last Airbender.  Bah-doy-doy, spoilers ahead, so only visit if you think you’re bold enough to have watched the best movies with spoilers.  I’m not so bold, but I couldn’t pass the opportunity to test the ambitious.

It must be pretty cool that Fight Club is popular with the crowd these day.  Social networking has allowed us to share our love for different things.  Through Facebook, Fight Club has gotten pretty popular and when things trend on Facebook, it labels it as ‘talking about’.  Which brings us to this hilarious image of Fight Club’s page for Facebook and it shows that 58 thousand people are talking about it.  I’m pretty sure the first 2 rules are that you do NOT talk about fight club.  Hilariously ironic.

Movies are often used as tools to influence their target audience.  They have messages that, portrayed through relatable characters, can lead us to believe that by mimicking their actions and beliefs can bring us to a better life, due to seeing the consequences of leading that lifestyle.  It’s the simple idea of a the general public being too easily influenced by the media and unfortunately we’re all too influenced by this.  I’ve seen unfortunate people devoting themselves to Fight Club thought and Yes Man idea.  Here’s a list of some movies whose message might not actually be a good idea.

One of film’s [some will argue literature] most influential and bad-ass figures, Tyler Durden, has at one point influenced us all to ‘f*** our mediocre lives and start living’.  His message has easily corrupted the minds of relatable ‘everymen’ who have stable jobs and has persuaded them to abandon their jobs, stability, and sanity to beat the living s*** out of each other in the basement of some bar.  This is not an easy task.  He is what every man wants to be at their most basic instinct.  So I dedicate today’s post to a Character Profile of Tyler Durden.  Spoilers follow.
