Some plot holes are never really covered.  Some plot motivations do not cover the ramifications that happen.  Bruce Almighty  pulled the moon closer so he could get laid.  Cracked covers a small section of that movie where the tv shows news flash about flash floods.  Nice one God.  Below is 4 more movies with plot holes as big as Jennifer Aniston’s augmented assets that Bruce created.

Movies that Accidentally Killed Innocent Characters

Machinima is known for taking video games and cutting them in different ways to produce humorous and creative results.  Gamer Poop is a division of Machinima that takes the cutscenes of video games and then cuts them together for lewd and crude conversations.  In honor of Mass Effect 3 releasing more free DLC, here are some fairly hilarious videos of Shepherd being in love too much with women and steak.  Due to it’s popularity, they’ve created even more videos and they can be seen below.

As Korra wrapped up this year, there’s a lot of pop culture still being thrown around and mashed up with the popular Nickelodeon series.  What we have here is artist Tristyn Pease who’s mashed up not only this photo but Korra’s helpful sidekick Naga in traditional Disney animation.  See the mini gallery below and continue checking out her blog below.

As many of you know, we here at Banana Scoop try to post four times a day five days a week and then four posts total on the two-day weekend.  That’s nearly 24 posts a week.  We usually don’t take holidays and we’re fairly consistent with how many times we post.  But as many of you must realize this takes time.  “But it’s your job,” some might say.  This is NOT my job.  I’m a chemical engineering student at a demanding top engineering school and writing a blog about pop culture is not considered a smart use of time when there are tests, quizzes, and optional homework that needs to be done.  This blog is my hobby.  My temporary escape from a rather creatively stifling school.  But that’s another story for another time.

I once recorded the time it takes to prepare a week’s worth of material for Banana Scoop.  It may take anywhere from 8 to 10 hours a week.  That’s a lot of time for something you’re neither paid for nor graded for.  I still manage to have somewhat of a social life, have time for my 30 hour a week job, and of course to do other things I enjoy like reading or blowing off some steam playing video games.

I’m dedicating today’s post to how life works for me and Banana Scoop.  While we do have one other contributor here, my inability to pay him forces me to carry about 85-90%+ of the workload of maintaining the aesthetics and punctual aspect of this blog.  I have a very long system that originates from daydreaming into a castle to cramming minutes before my deadline.  Read below on how I organize my life to run the very gratifying website that is Banana Scoop.

2011 is behind us, but there is a plethora of movies that are still worth watching from then.  Unreality has listed 5 movies that are relatively little known, but are apparently definitely still worth your while.  I personally haven’t seen any of these, but if any of you guys have, please let me know what ya’ll think of them.

Awesome Movies You May Have Missed from 2011

Don’t let the name fool you. What we have here are the advertisements to a neat service that blows a large amount of wind in your face and then proceeds to takes a pictures. The photography that does is this known as TADAOCERN. Here’s a gallery of his project he called ‘Blow Job’. Check it out below.

A while back I posted an article regarding ‘Operation Revival’ that had me visiting each of my followers imploring them to resubscribe if they continued to want to seethe blog posts in their readers. But about as quickly as it began, it ended.

WordPress as many of you know shares it’s own vices, some of those being the annoying spam and advertisements as well as botted users. As I began searching through my followers, I quickly found that many of them (especially my earlier ones) are either deleted or barely used.

This was rather conflicting in the idea that a large amount of my followers were like this. So in response I called off the operation. So in terms of returning Banana Scoop to its former glory, I’ve decided to do it the old fashioned way. With dedication and unrelentless posting. We aren’t gettin paid here ladies and gents. It’s only my love for tv and movies that keeps this site going. That and all your support.

Thanks again.

This past weekend Nickelodeon wrapped up The Legend of Korra Season 1 in an explosive fashion. I’ve talked about it before and how awesome the set up has been. The finale featured two episodes, Skeletons in then Closet and Endgame, and they wrapped up all the build up from the ten episode set up. There weren’t many spine tingling moments in these ten episodes, as compared to the Avatar: The Last Airbender, which usually had me goosebumping, but the last two episodes had its fair share of epic moments.

With excellent character development, beautiful animation and music, and enough hints to the previous series mythlore, the Legend of Korra season finale puts another big hole in my heart as I have to wait an entire another year before we can see anything from this again. I relate it to my experience with Game of Thrones, where I had to fulfill my fix by beginning the book series. But there are no book series for this. So this post won’t be the last we hear of this series, as I’ll try to keep the spirit alive and try to find as many pieces of Legend of Korra related pop culture over the next few weeks.

Read below to get my opinion and feelings on the season finale. SERIOUS SPOILERS BELOW

My Take

The Silence of the Lambs is absolutely one of my favorite thrillers. Anthony Hopkins gives one the craziest performances I’ve ever seen. Buffalo Bill’s scene also one of the most disturbing scenes I’ve ever seen. Overall it’s a grand slam and fellow Blogger On Life and Stuff was selected for this week’s Weekend Reblog! Congratulations!

Ooooh, this is one of my favorite categories. Before I go on, I apologize for not posting yestarday. I was feeling like a trailer had run over me thanks to a medication allergy. But I’m back, and here we go…

I’ve soon learned that Weekend Funnies are a temporary vacation from you real life, as you get stuck in a world where life doesn’t suck so much.  A world where anonymity is power that allows you to be racist, sexist, judgmental, or all of the above for a few quick minutes and then you can return to whoever you were before.  So take this time and enjoy these 24 images are your escape from your likely hellish life.  And if your offended with one image, always remember that if EVERYONE finds it funny, it probably truly isn’t.

For those who don’t know what the 3 point landing is, the video should be clear.  But in case you need reassurance before you watch the minute long video, it’s when any character, movie, television, or video game, falls from a certain height and conveniently land on both feet and one hand on the ground.  I’m assuming you require your hand to absorb some of the shock from you body so it doesn’t all have to go directly to your poor ankles, and instead can forcibly break your wrist.  But that’s beside the point.

There are two aspects to the 3 point landing.  Clearly.  The landing itself and the just as cliche head raise to look the enemy in the eye.  Check out the video above and then immediately jump from you bed and perform the landing and head raising yourself for maximum pleasure.

As a followup to a post I did a while back, another article has risen concerning the possible banning of the 360 console in the United States. In retaliation to being sued by Microsoft over multiple patents that phone company Motorola should have been paying for, the cellphone provider counter-sued with their own patent complaints, citing multiple patents that Microsoft had breached that are currently in use on their console system. It turns out that back in April, a judge had ruled that Microsoft did indeed infringe upon a few of the patents it was accused of violating. Read more about the case in the source article below and let me know what you think!

Tension is running as high as ever as I try to scramble Banana Scoop to the glory it once was.  I may be self obsessed with this idea of my need for validation, but I consider this more than a hobby, so it’s important to me that I continue to release these maintenance notes as a possible solution.  It has come to my attention that many of my followers before the change are no longer receiving my updates in their readers.  This is heart breaking news to me, seeing as I worked very hard to get the 350+ followers I currently have and am unable to give them the news they followed me for in the first place.

So it’s time for drastic action.  Starting this weekend, I’m going to begin visiting each and every one of my followers and leaving a polite message regarding if they wish to continue following me, that they resubscribe by hitting ‘unfollow’ and ‘follow’.  This is a proven methodology and I advise any of those who are reading that haven’t done so already, to please make their mouses way to the follow screen above.

We’re still in transition mode and we’re trying to get things running back 100%.  With Universidaze and my tablet on the fritz, this stressful page load shift, and real life beyond this computer, it’s getting tougher and tougher to hold on.  But you’re all worth it!  So hang tight with us as we wade our way through this thick mud.  I still have lots of events planned for you guys, so thanks for all the support.

Thanks to Victors Movie Reviews for point this out!

I absolutely love posts that combine the categories, “Movies”, “Television”, and “Video Games”.  Cracked has put together a list of 5 awesome fantasies that should only exist in movies, television, and video games that are actually legitimate parks and programs.  Did you ever want to go to Middle Earth?  How about be a spy?  Check out  the article below to see how you can do these things.

Geek Fantasies that are Actually For Sale Somewhere

You don’t need me to explain what this image is. But if it’s too long and didn’t feel like reading, it essentially summarizes how all television shows act. This algorithm applies to both comedies and dramas and maybe even reality shows [eh maybe not, I was tired of Jersey Shore since season 1]. It’s true that most episodes hit their stride in season 3 and 4 because the writers are truly comfortable with their characters. Soon enough they become cash cows to live long enough hit the zombie years. Enough of my garbage, scroll back up and read the image by cracked again. Be sure to visit Cracked.com or Viruscomix.com to support the wit.

This collection of videos seems to be from the Game of Thrones DVD special features. It has a lot of neat background information that are sprinkled in the novels. For any avid fan of the HBO series but haven’t had time to read the books, let these videos burn up an hour of two of your reeducation. I’m serious, if you watch these videos and then go back and watch the series, I guarantee you that you’ll see and hear a lot of references you didn’t catch before.

If you’re interested in more, check out his entire playlist that practically includes ALL of the Game of Thrones DVD and Blue Ray Special Features.

It’s flip week I suppose, seeing as I covered the sequel to a game before the actual game came out. Anyway, this week’s game of the week is Mass Effect 2. Featuring an all-star cast of lovable characters, my favorite of which is currently Doctor Mordin Solus after his glorious rendition of The Major-General’s song. With a wide-array of ways to play with an even wider array of things to say, Mass Effect 2 is definitely one of the best games I’ve played to date. Check out the rest of the article to get my in-depth review of Mass Effect 2. Continue Reading »

The set of Iron Man 3 has released some photos. It looks like it’s the first Marvel to be released after the craze of The Avengers. With one of their first released photos, we see Tony Stark looking upon the many suits he’s made during his trilogy [about to technically be a quadrilogy]. Yahoo! has compiled the back story and appearance of these seven suits in a neat gallery. Be sure to check out the link below.
