Another awesome Disney Mash Up. We’ve seen Sin City and Game of Thrones, and now we have Batman version of Disney. While the other two featured a large spectrum of Disney characters, this one focuses only on The Lion King. Regardless, it’s really well done. Scar makes a really good Bane and Zazu/Rafiki as an even better Alfred. And the Hyenas fit he chanting really well. I’m always shocked how well the lip syncing fits with the actual dialogue. Check out the video above!

Ye Olde Batman Takes Flight
Posted in Movies on July 16, 2012| Leave a Comment »
With the Dark Knight Rises coming out this Friday, there’s plenty of reason to get excited. And even better, there’s reason to start posting all things Batman related. Starting with this absurd old timey photo of some steampunk type Batsuit. With heavy emphasis on the wings. The head photoshop is pretty absurd. It looks like the old animated Batman head super imposed on this old guy. Regardless how bad it is, it’s still a neat idea. What we need now is an old timey Joker to fight this guy.

My Take
Andy from AndyWatches Movies writes reviews about movie he recently watches. This reblog is his review on Pulp Fiction. I like it when movie bloggers review Pulp Fiction, because everyone has a different experience with it. It’s such a unique film that it’s definitely interesting seeing what people say about it. I liked his words about ‘simple in theory yet complex in execution’. I like that particular line especially because I find that Pulp Fiction has 3 very simple story lines [like the one’s he outlined], yet are shown to us in such a distinct and stylish manner that has become largely known to us as Tarantino-chic. Anywho, take a peak at his blog and the full review. Congrats on the Reblog Andy, keep on reviewing movies!

Movie One Hundred Fifty Six
Pulp Fiction tells the tales of several different completely different, but completely intertwining events.
It would be impossible for me to detail the entirety of Pulp Fiction’s plot(s) in just one paragraph so I’ll keep it high-level. Story line #1: There are two robbers (Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer) at a diner planning to rob it. Story Line #2: Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson) both work for Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames) as hit men, and Vincent has to take Marsellus’ wife, Mia (Uma Thurman),out. Story Line #3: Marsellus tries to fix a fight with boxer, Butch Coolidge (Bruce Willis). All of these story lines intersect at least once, continuously adding to the cast of memorable characters.
While not his first film, Pulp Fiction is what firmly placed Quentin Tarantino as a name to watch and remains high on the favorites list of many. Pulp Fiction

It’s been confirmed that Bruce Willis has signed on for another Die Hard movie, titled ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’. The thing is, their marketing campaign is something we’ve already seen. One of the first posters released for the upcoming movie has something very similar about it…Oh wait, it’s the same exact poster. Hit the jump to Filmdrunk to see their take on the matter.
Toy Story Unleashed

Sean Izaakse drew this super badass rendition of Toy Story heroes and it got made into a legitimate toy! These toys are what realistic space marines and hardened cowboys are supposed to look like, but having the skins of the unforgettable duo, Woody and Buzz, makes it all that much better. Now I gotta ask, where is Jessie as the sexy femme fatale? See the original rendition below.

Morning Banana Oatmeal: Movie Tattoos Debunked
Posted in Lists, Movies, tagged eastern promises, ink, justin timberlake, skin, tattoos, the mummy on July 10, 2012| Leave a Comment »
Cracked took apart 5 movies where characters had tattoos and found them contradictory to the stories. They took the movie producer’s attempts to be badass/meaningful/colorful and completely sat them on their asses. Sounds like class Cracked to me. I’ve always been wary of tattoos, as when they’re cool when you’re young, they can sag and become nasty as you get older. And I always thought it even worse when people had tattoos of Chinese symbols when the only time they’ve ever read Chinese was when they were Googling the translation for their tattoo.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Funny Fat Guys

People have made a career by simply utilizing their weight as physical comedy. It’s funny because there seemingly aren’t any average looking people in Hollywood. They’re either teenage heart throbs or they’re so obese that they’re the joke to every punchline. Complete polar opposites. UGO has compiled some of the industry’s funniest fat guys, both animated and real life. Click the link to check out the list.
Actors with Incredible Years of Acting

Sometimes you can’t help but notice and say, “Hey I’ve seen that guy in at least 3 other movies this year”. I like to think for most actors that doing one year should be more than enough to pay off that year’s bills and still live in a luxurious sense. But then I see some actors that do 2 or 3 movies in one year, I think to myself: not only are you loaded, but you must be absolutely exhausted. How are they able to deliver such powerful performances when they’re doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling characters in one period of time. Forget Daniel Day-Lewis [who takes years for him to get into character], get these peoples Oscars or some sort of award quickly, because they definitely deserve it for their versatility. So below is a list of actors who did multiple movies in the same year and were able to deliver awesome performances in them. Be sure to remind me of the many that I missed in the comments section below!
Character Profile: Lisbeth Salander

Lisbeth Salander is by likely by far my favorite fictional character in the universe. After reading her adventures in Stieg Larssonn’s novels, I went on to fall in love with Rooney Mara’s Oscar nominated performance and in response, fell in love with Mara herself. I even dedicated a large image gallery simply dedicated to the best Rooney Mara pictures I could dig up. So I decided to honor Ms. Salander with a image gallery of her own with Deviant Art’s best pictures. Be sure to visit the artists themselves, whose names are left on the image captions. I’ve even included my rendition, but it doesn’t compare to the masters of their crafts. I tried to stray away from direct images from movie inspirations and tried to stick to original depictions of the puzzling but lovable Lisbeth Salander.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Wonka Hatches the Dirtiest Joke
Posted in Movies, tagged charlie bucket, gene wilder, Johnny Depp, snozzberries, Willy Wonka on July 4, 2012| Leave a Comment »
Cracked Writers have completely burst open another random tidbit in a movie. In this article, they break down what the meaning of a Snozzberry is based on original writer Roald Dahl’s other works. The article then begins to break down the ramifications and insinuations that have occurred since then. And to think it all started with Gene Wilder delivering such a seemingly innocent line…
What the hell has Gene Wilder been doing lately? I’ve always considered him to be like Bill Murray in the fact that he does whatever the fck he wants as he’s a comic legend. Both are incredibly old these days and at least Bill Murray is in a couple of movies in once a while. I think Gene Wilder needs to have a random ass cameo like Bill Murray did in Zombieland. That’d be the best.
The Avengers is Very Punny

I don’t know who came up with this, I highly doubt it’s originally done on SoMuchPun.com, as original content [dubbed OC by the internet] is so hard to claim these days. But you can’t deny how adorable and hilariously punny this image is. The poorly shopped glasses make it even better when the characters deliver their one-liners.
Jack Nicholson Swirls His Drink

Stanley Kubrick is known for his long and creepy moments in his movies. Jack Nicholson delivers the ultimate creepy/crazy in The Shining. The invention of the internet hasn’t really helped. This GIF recognizes a very awesome scene where his character Jack is having a drink with an imaginary bartender. The clip is almost hypnotizing in a manner of which the drink swirls in a trancing fashion…Nothing else moving…alone…crazy.
Time to go watch this movie again whilst simultaneously hugging a pillow over my face.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Badass Action Scenes

Action scenes make our hearts race, jaws drop, and eyes fixated on their well-done choreography or awesome CGI. UGO has compiled some awesome action scenes ranging from hand to hand fights to metal on metal collisions. Check out this video laced post and complain here if they missed anything lol. My complaint is that they don’t really include any Chinese movies with awesome choreography, but that’s okay, I’m sure there are dozens of lists that I’ll post here that involve best Chinese choreographed fights.

Another Cracked Photosplasty brings another compilation of awesome images. This week’s topic: 20 Plot twists no one saw coming. What this essentially means is that this gallery is a compilation of things that don’t actually happened in movies but would’ve been completely awesome anyways. Tom Hanks reprises quite the large number of appearances in this list, so enjoy.
The Nigel Thornberry Meme

For those who don’t know, Nigel Thornberry is a cartoon character from the Nickelodeon show The Wild Thornberrys. He has a very distinct facial structure and mannerisms that the internet has taken advantage of. By implanting his face on many Disney princesses and other popular culture, he’s become a meme for the shock value and disturbing combination of a perfect body and hideous face. I’ve divided this post into 4 pages because .GIF files are known to slow pages down.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Aaron Johnson Talked Kick-Ass 2

I’m a sucker for non-super superhero movies. I loved Super and Mystery Men, and Kick-Ass is in the same league. So it’s been announced that all three leads will be returning: Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist. Collider has dug up an interview that has Aaron Johnson talking about what’s in store for Kick-Ass fans. Otherwise, I’m also considering picking up the graphic novel. Who can give me a recommendation if it’s any good or not?
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Breaking Down Donnie Darko

Donnie Darko was a complex movie. So complex and intimidating, that I’ve only watched it once because I didn’t want to put myself through the mind stress. But below, Metaphilm has compiled a theory and explanation to the cult classic. It’s fairly similar to the Breaking Down of Memento’s time structure. Donnie Darko is significantly more difficult and complex, so the idea of physics and tangentals are sprinkled here and there. But if you want to try hard, I recommend you check out the link below.
50 Shades of Blue with Selena Gomez

Apparently there’s a big deal regarding this book, 50 Shades of Grey that has to deal with women wanted to be put into submission in order to satiate their…desires. Well naturally, this created some opportunities to have some fun with this. Funny Or Die has then enlisted Selena Gomez and Nick Kroll to reenact a parody that gives me a slight idea of what this book is all about and it looks just as dumb as what this parody makes it out to be. Let’s hear ya’lls opinion on anyone who’s actually read the book. Meanwhile, I’ll be diving right back into my Song of Ice and Fire series.
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Movies that Accidentally Killed Innocent Characters

Some plot holes are never really covered. Some plot motivations do not cover the ramifications that happen. Bruce Almighty pulled the moon closer so he could get laid. Cracked covers a small section of that movie where the tv shows news flash about flash floods. Nice one God. Below is 4 more movies with plot holes as big as Jennifer Aniston’s augmented assets that Bruce created.
