Another awesome Disney Mash Up. We’ve seen Sin City and Game of Thrones, and now we have Batman version of Disney. While the other two featured a large spectrum of Disney characters, this one focuses only on The Lion King. Regardless, it’s really well done. Scar makes a really good Bane and Zazu/Rafiki as an even better Alfred. And the Hyenas fit he chanting really well. I’m always shocked how well the lip syncing fits with the actual dialogue. Check out the video above!

Sunday Sketch: Catwoman

My Catwoman is finally done. It took a while, and I see flaws all over it. But I’m exhausted over this project. I’ll definitely be keeping things to smaller scale for a while. Later today, I’m going to post my article about my step by step process of drawing this, so stay tuned!
Sunday Sketch: Catwoman Draft

I’m not Superman. I’m not Captain Amazing. Hell, I’m not even an artist. Some drawings take more than 1 week to draw. Simply because you need to maintain your own sanity and take a break. So I decided to go ambitious this week and try a more detailed sketch of Catwoman. Turns out this took a significantly longer amount of time than I anticipated, so about 5.5 hours later, I was only done with the basic sketch. That leaves out the tedious detailing, the coloring, the shading, the gleaming, and the blending. There’s a lot left to be done, but I’m fairly proud of my voluptuous version of the cat burglar myself. Hopefully the finished result will be featured next week.

The tablet is alive!!! I reset all my preferences and my Bamboo Tablet is back in business. For the first time in a long time, here’s a Sunday Sketch. My ‘Batman Universe as Children’ gallery gets another addition with young Victor and Nora Fries play by the pool. The future Mr. Freeze finds a neat astronaut suit action figure while Nora steals his favorite water gun.

Now Playing: Batman: Arkham City – Game of the Year Edition

Last week, I got Batman: Arkham City – Game of the Year Edition. I had bought Arkham Asylum earlier this year for a super discounted price, and I completely enjoyed it. Taking down foes with your advanced tool belt and unmatched combat skills is one thing, but being the Batman at the same time where you take down infamous criminals from the Batman universe makes this even better. So when Arkham City was released, it immediately gathered attention for potentially being one of the best games of the year and eventually did by many credible sources. I was going to buy it a couple of months after it was released, but when I caught wind of this version with all the DLC and an included extra DLC would be released in late May, I simply had to get my hands on it.
[Old] Batman and Robin Running From Things

Artist Robert Salvador has created some hilariously awesome gifs of classic Adam West Batman and Robin running away from various things. I might be too young and bold to say this, but I think this is the age of where actors would run on treadmills and various scenes would be projected behind them. Because clearly those projected scenes have been hilariously converted to this series of gifs. Check out the rest of gallery below with appearances from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and more!

Why Batman is Actually Bad for Gotham

Cracked has a series called After Hours where they take a group of highly opinionated individuals and break down a random subject by looking at its history and legacy. In this episode, they debate whether or not Batman is actually good for Gotham. They use points like his sanity, the villains he creates, and how he could actually truly benefit Gotham by not being Batman. See the well seasoned debate above.
Game of the Week: Batman: Arkham Asylum

Hello and welcome to this week’s Game of the Week. Today we’ll be covering a game I was recently allowed to borrow with a recommendation from a good friend. Batman: Arkham Asylum, first in what may be a series of games, followed by Arkham City, is an amazing step in the right direction for superhero games in general (with Spider Man 2 coming in at a close second place). With all the grit of the original and later series and a lot of interesting mechanics and gameplay nuances, Arkham Asylum makes for an intriguing time killer and fun-filling machine. The plot is interesting, deep, and peppered here and there with a bit of maturity (if not a lot ofmaturity, people DO die). Let’s get into the dissection of this game before we go any further.

Batman is everywhere. He will find you and he will kill you. I feel like Liam Neeson’s taken character should also be featured, given his finding people skills.
Breaking Down the New The Dark Knight Rises Trailer

I would’ve had this article up yesterday had it not been for the Finals I had to take yesterday. As many of you know, The Dark Knight Rises trailer has hit the internet, making a wave of spine tingling emotions be felt across the world. The trailer itself is fairly unorthodox to most trailers I’ve seen for a number of reasons. We’re essentially told a miniature story within the trailer. That part is not so unorthodox because most trailers these days seem to give the entire plot to the movie in 3:00 minutes. But this trailer told a different story. I think it’s a way of us getting a grasp on the 8 year gap between The Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight, to see what has happened to Gotham and Batman. From what I can tell, he’ been nearly exhausted as a man and feels as though he’s responsible for maintaining Gotham, even in a its darkest hour [Bane’s coming] that will likely destroy him. I’m sure this theme will be reiterated throughout the movie, but I think having a grasp on this idea know will help us find deeper meaning in what I’m sure is to be a very complex story. Overall, here’s some notes I’ve been taking as I watched the trailer. (more…)
Morning Banana Oatmeal: Superhero Reboots to Come

W. Rowntree and Cracked.com has once again come up with this amazing webcomic about the absurdity behind superhero reboots. I love the justification descriptions behind each one and they truly represent how ridiculous reboots and revamps are becoming. That being said, the new Spiderman is completely unnecessary and the only reason I might see it is because Emma Stone is A-Mah-Zing.

The Chive has created this awesome graphic giving you reasons to not take his daughter. With Taken 2 coming around the bend and the original Taken not being horrible, there’s decent reason to start getting excited. The graphic below gives you lessons based on Neeson’s career as to why taking his daughter is a horrible idea. My favorite: He Trained Batman

The Joker is one of them most colorful characters in the comic book universe. We most remember him by Heath Ledger’s performance and praised him for his take on the Joker. But artists have been trying to capture the Joker for years in the form of a single picture. This is a gallery of madness. One might think the artists themselves have gone mad trying to capture the essence of the chaotic Joker. Hit the jump for the gallery.
