The films listed here weren’t received well at the domestic box office. They also weren’t rated very well by critics. Both of these aspects usually make movies flops. But with a low production budget and large world box office, these movies actually aren’t considered flops.

Sure there were quite a few movie spots in the Superbowl, but none as awesome as the Avengers. And by awesome, I meant explodey. My gosh they’re really selling the whole action movie. I sure hope this thing isn’t a loud bust, or else I and tons of others will be really upset. Regardless, the classic Tony Stark humor is always appreciated and once again we ended on the Hulk screaming. Literally, almost every Avengers teaser ends with the Hulk screaming.

Cracked took some of the most bad-ass moments that movie heroes have accomplished and pinned them on pure luck. This actually makes a lot of sense and is hilarious. As ever, I love Cracked for finding the finest moments in movies.

As I finish up the Great Gatsby in preparations for Baz Luhrmann’s adaptation starring the awesome Leonardo DeCaprio, there are a couple of other books I want to start and finish for potential movies or general interest. I’m not a humungous reader because I honestly don’t have the time, but if the story is good enough, I’ll easily forsake school work to finish it up, like for what I did for the Millennium Trilogy. Anyways, here’s the 5 books I have so far queued for 2012.

Writer Cody Johnston from Cracked.com has written this impressive essay about why Christopher Nolan will kill Bruce Wayne. Utilizing examples from the two previous films as well as even films from Nolan’s other works, this article completely bursts open what The Dark Knight Rises could potentially be. Check this article out and get a leg up on on how amazing one of the most anticipated films of the year can turn out. yes, I know this is a little outdated being written in November, but I’ve been saving this one for a while.

I’ve only seen half of these movies, which I’m fairly ashamed for. Regardless, they’ve compiled a decent list, but I honestly can’t say I completely agree with them. First Class, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Moneyball, a lot of those that are nominated for best picture should be included in here. Regardless, everyone is entitled to their opinions.

If you have an internet pulse, you’ve probably come across the ‘Shit ____ Says’. Now I wouldn’t put any of the ones like girls, asian dads, or sorority girls say, but this Samuel L. Jackson one is fairly hilarious. I must admit the guy who acted as him is quite ballsy because the people he harassed look genuinely surprised. Regardless, this one’s pretty good, I suggest you take a look.

A couple of months ago, I posted an article containing a couple of awesome monologue scenes. I used the term monologue to describe a part when an actor usually has a lot of lines to say without anyone interrupting or stealing his thunder. While the list I created was good, I picked up a couple more from my readers as well as a couple of other sources. Here, I’ve compiled their respective Youtube videos that can be seen below.

I know it’s far from Halloween, but there’s always a good time to watch a good ‘ol scary movie. Here’s a list of 10 scary movies that are relatively under the radar. Unfortunately, the only one I’ve seen is Slither as featured above. But if I were to add one, it’d probably be Tucker and Dale vs. Evil. Anyways, check out the full list below.

One of the most adorable on screen pairs, Joseph Gorden Levitt and Zooey Deschanel have once again paired up to perform an adorable duet. They obviously have a ton of chemistry together and I love one of the Youtube comments, ‘Joe is totally friendzoned’. Enjoy.

Paul Rudd adds another goof to his resume of likable leads as he stars in Our Idiot Brother. I’d consider this one of his more dramatic roles that holds more emotional weight than any of his others. Overall Our Idiot Brother has a very charming and talented cast and while it succeeds as a comedic drama, it doesn’t meet the expectations I had hoped.
Ned (Rudd) is a laid back, kind-hearted, goof who sells marijuana to a police officer who’s incarcerated for his good intentions. When he’s released from jail, he has to give up his old home, girlfriend, and dog and must resort to living with his three sisters (Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, and Elizabeth Banks) and their seemingly perfect lives. He slowly turns their worlds upside down and is kicked out one-by-one.

The Chive is a very popular website that seems to dedicate itself to…well itself. As arrogant and self-glorifying as it is, it does seem to compile some very hilarious stuff. For example this collection of captions on this page. I’ve picked some of the best to feature here. Enjoy.

Obviously there’s a lot of trash lying around in the entertainment industry also known as the romantic comedy. What’s Your Number, The Bounty Hunter, most Katherine Heigl movies, etc. These movies are specifically catered to the female demographic and the unfortunate souls they bring along with them to the movie theater or the viewing couch. As a fairly metrosexual man myself, even I have limits as to what trash I will sit through. Sometimes when I have conversations with women about movies, they’ll start listing movies such as these as their favorites and I have to force myself to not roll my eyes, but sometimes it’s just too much. After shaking my head in disdain and slapping them on the hand for their poor taste, I’ll turn the conversation around on them by telling them these 10 movies that I consider rom-coms and chick flicks that won’t make your head explode from how bad they are.
