Last Tuesday, I gave a maintenance update regarding the state of the blog and what we have in store, and I kinda felt as though we should do that every week! I like keeping you guys updated with how I’m doing and some of the personal feelings I have towards this blog sometimes. I’d like for you guys to think that this blog is more than just me posting a lot of cool stuff I find, and that it’s about discussing/geeking out about how much I love popular culture. Reaching out to you guys almost seems meta. So like many other scheduled events on this blog, Tuesday Maintenance Letters will try to be a thing these days. There’s always something I want to be doing for this blog, so I think sharing with you guys what I do will not only tighten our cyber bond, but also make you notice all the effort I put into things that aren’t necessarily obvious XD.
List of Scheduled Events

Read on below about what’s new with our blog as of recently.
Books are Made Official by Including them in the Banners and Buttons!
A while back, we announced that we’d be covering books. However, we haven’t really made any book related posts and there hasn’t been much hype about them since first conception. But now we’re definitely making them official by including them in new banners and the new buttons screen. I’m about 3/5 of my way through Dance with Dragons, so as soon as I’m done with that, I can destroy The Hunger Games in about 2 Days. So expect as massive influx of book related posts soon after.
New Buttons
In addition to the new category button, as you can tell, I’ve updated the other buttons as well to better reflect what’s trending in both the pop culture world as well as mine. These buttons are either flashbacks to previous posts and even present a wee look into the future of what’s in store here at Banana Scoop.
Universidaze Returns This Week
After my humongous stint with Catwoman, I’m more than ready to ease it back a bit and draw some stick figures. Miles and Chad are back this week, so look out for more Universidaze. Be sure to check out the Universidaze page to read more of our comics!
Recent Comments Section in the Sidebar Included to Jump into Hot Discussions
WordPress Widgets are really neat. I feel like they add new features to them all the time and you wouldn’t know about them unless you checked everyone. There’s a recently comment section that I definitely think will help viewers jump into discussions that are really popular. It’s every blog editor’s habit to respond to most comments given on this site, so you’ll excuse me if that recent comments are totally filled with my responses to fellow bloggers.
Old Timey Articles are More Featured in the Favorite Scoops
This blog is about 1 year old. I know I started this blog in the summer, but I wouldn’t say we were the very well oiled machine we are today about a year ago. A year ago, I had a different mind set about what I wanted the blog to be, and I included a few ideas from then that would be consistent now. So in some sort of honor of celebration of that time, I’m going to feature a lot of old articles in the Favorite Scoops section. Especially if you’re a new reader, be sure to stop by some of them and give your thoughts. Some of them are really good articles that weren’t given the publicity they needed just because we weren’t popular back then.
Live Discussion is Another Hot Spot for Heated Debate
Slowly but surely, our new feature ‘Live Discussion’ is taking off. We’ve had a number of people stop by and put their 2 cents in, but not nearly enough! Be sure if you’re feeling in talky mood to stop by and start a new discussion or maybe add to an old one. I’d like for some opinions to fly there, as seeing other people’s opinions in one way or more widens your own scope of mind.
