Charming/adorable, they’re all pretty much the same word and they sum up the outlook of every character on this list. By using the word ‘infectiously charming’ I mean that they’re actions/philosophy in life can only bring smiles on our faces, regardless of how naive or misguided they may be. On this list, you’ll find 5 characters who represent the pinnacle of adorableness.
Jess – New Girl
What can’t Zooey Deschanel get away with without the media calling it adorable or cute? As Hollywood’s it girl, Deschanel has a reputation of being a quirky and adorable indie movie character, and now she has a television show that pretty much has her typecast to be in that role forever. Regardless, you can’t argue against that face. And my only upset with New Girl is that her roommates try to repress her adorable quirkiness, which in all honesty is a sin against humanity.
Amelia Earhart – Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
This was almost Giselle from Enchanted. But I’ve featured Giselle and Enchanted so many times on this website, I decided to go with another Amy Adams character. If there was anything salvageable from this movie, it’s Amy Adams and her enjoyably adorable Amelia Earhart.
Wall-E – Wall-E
There’s something adorable in how this trash compacting robot that is so socially isolated, his best friend is a cockroach. His general curiosity and naive look at the world is both lovable and innocent. And even in the face of corruption and danger, he will do anything to satisfy his beloved EVE. And the love between these two robots extend beyond the hard drive (literally).
Olive – Easy A
Emma Stone is another girl I would call who has an ‘it’ factor. She’s generally infectious as a whole and she displays it in more than just this movie. I include this adorable aspect in both Crazy, Stupid, Love as well as this movie. I haven’t been able to see if this carries on to the recently successful, The Help, but I expect big things from her in the future, if you wouldn’t consider her career a success already.
Annie – Community
A neurotic and overly dramatic girl with a heart of gold may have her own flaws, but she’s adorable none-the-less. She’s a recovering drug addict (adderall, hence the name Annie Adderal) and her priorities aren’t always straight, but she’s got a heart of gold that sees the best in people. And she can be a bit of a bad-ass when the time calls.
I agree!!! I have yet to see New Girl, since it hasn’t come out in Mexico, but I take your word for it. Zooey Deschanel is adorable, even for girls. By the way, where can I find yur posts about Enchanted? I hadn’t started reading you yet…
I just looked through my archives and I guess I haven’t posted as much about Enchanted as I thought. I think I have a lot of drafts written about Enchanted that I haven’t posted yet which gave me the impression that I talk about Enchanted all the time. 🙂
HAhaha… well, feel free to do so! I love it!!
Abigail Breslin in Little Miss Sunshine!
Two things:
1. Annie is a babe.
2. Boo from Monsters Inc. should have been on here. I stand by that there just is not a character in anything ever as adorable as Boo.
I’m absolutely in love with Annie. As for Boo, Pixar has got a long list of adorable characters that fit in the supporting player slot, Doug from Up, Jack-Jack from Incredibles, Dory from Finding Nemo. I chose Wall-e because he’s just a robot looking for someone to fall in love with. And to me that just screams awwww.
