I had a wonderful time with Season 1 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead.  After so much critical praise, everyone was curious about what the next step was for Telltale.  They ultimately headed in a direction of a lesser known comic book than The Walking Dead called Fables.  Fables is a comic book by Bill Willingham. By the time the series was announced, I had read the first third of the series and fairly enjoyed the story of how society’s beloved story time characters live in a separate society from the rest of the world.  While the series kind of fell off for me, the hype around Telltale’s The Wolf Among Us may have just pulled me back right into the world.  The first episode was released in October 2013 and has gained critical buzz until the first season of the series concluded in July 2014.  It was only this past month when Telltale released the whole 5 episode package on the PS4 and I immediately attacked it.  With my background knowledge on the Fables universe and familiarity with Telltale’s story medium, I thought I was prepared for The Wolf Among Us.  I was wrong.  On so many enjoyable and juicy levels.

Here’s how I was absolutely blown away by The Wolf Among Us and its titular hero: Bigby Wolf

Minimal spoilers, none that would ruin the game.

bigby and snow

I’m 4/5 episodes done with The Wolf Among Us.  I can’t help bringing myself to finishing the 5th episode knowing my time with Bigby will be over soon.  So I stalled even longer with drawing some fan art.  Bigby and Snow’s relationship is something that’s a lot of fun.  The way Bigby dotes on her, but how he is ashamed of his rage and true form is tragic.  I play my Bigby as a very angry man who isn’t hesitant to use violence on anyone standing in his way.  But he also has a heart of gold, willing to help individuals who really need it.  I’ve had a fantastic time with The Wolf Among Us.  I really like being bad, something I couldn’t really bring myself to doing in The Walking Dead with Lee and Clementine.

Here’s some dialogue I kinda ran with it.

“Bigby, we should get this body to the wishing well, before the Mundies find us.”

“Just a little longer Snow…let me…just a little longer”

“…”

“Am I a monster, Snow?”

“…”

“Yeah…that’s what I figured.”

The next piece of video game fan art will be my Herald of Andraste from Dragon Age Inquisition.  Look forward to it!

Disney Princesses are an object of beauty and perfection.  It’s natural that they’d be featured on the cover of Disney Vogue.  It’s actually kinda neat how deatiled the magazine itself is.  I can’t read the artist or else I’d definitely credit them.  Someone please holla if you know!

Was Snow White’s first instinct to clean the house sexist?  Moviefone has compiled a list of children’s movies that caught flak for possibly containing some insensitive humor.  Obesity, anti-oil, and hidden sex images are mentioned, but it’s up to you to believe if the company meant to add them.  I personally like to think so because I like the idea of movie writers and producers snickering in their rooms as they get Snow White residuals from 1950.
