Little did you internet people know, today is my birthday.  And here I am continually writing stuff for you on a day where I should be relaxing and not worrying about stuff.  Sheesh, the things I do for you.  Nah, I’m just kidding.  I love this and writing for you guys is my vacation from the Hell hole of a school that I attend [JK, it’s not THAT bad].  So that wraps up today.  I’m 20 years old now.  Goddammit.  I’m old.  It felt like yesterday when I watched this television show and this movie.  But low and behold these are from the goddammed 90s!!  Sweet mama pajama.  Okay, enough with me facing my own mortality.  Someone get me a shot of something strong.

For more of my art, go hereI’ve been working on my art, there are only a couple more of these Universidaze comics with sub par drawing and coloring.  I’ve been experimenting with coloring, shading, and outlining, and I think you guys are really going to like the outcomes.  After this comic, I believe there’s one more left from the old batch, then we’ll be switching to a a new artistic style.

Banana Feed is in a Progressive Reformat

If you haven’t already noticed, there are a couple of changes I’m trying to implement to make this website even better than ever.  On the right you’ll see two new categories: movies and television.  I’ve filtered through my 150+ posts and retagged them.  I’ve removed two of my categories, quips and morning oatmeals.  They’ll still be implemented, but they won’t be labeled through those categories.  That’s all I have done for now, and more is sure to come.

Other things we’re looking to implement:

  • Fixing the banner to be fully customized by me personally
  • Repicking the author’s favorites menu
  • Reorganizing the widgets page
  • Editing the About Me and Mission Statement Pages
  • Possibly hunting for a new theme page create a better homepage
  • Implement even more Bruce images to the site

Look forward to these things and let me know what you think as well as letting me know what I can do to help better your experience.

Banana Feed is Facing Technical Difficulties

Banana Feed is facing some technical problems and will be unable to publish today’s main article due to some unfinished articles being published.  I don’t exactly have time to remedy them because I’m in the middle of class all day.  Today’s quips originally scheduled to be published 3:00 EST will remain on schedule and we’ll surely be in full force come tomorrow.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  Please visit again tomorrow.

Banana Feed is Returning From Break Earlier than Scheduled

Finals week is practically over, and while I’ve survived 3/4 I’ve taken, nothing excites me more than taking a break than me returning to my beloved website.  Which only means one thing….WE’RE BACK!  If you’ve visited recently, you’ll see the bottom right ‘Author Favorites’ from November have been changed.  I’m trying to tweak a couple of more settings here and there to maximize the aesthetic pleasure that is this website.  As for TV and Movie news, I’ll be back with your regular broadcasting in about a week from now, come the week of the 19th.

And when we’re officially back, there’s going to be quite a format change.  First off, I’ll be hitting you guys harder than ever: posts 7 DAYS A WEEK.  ‘Sunday Funnies’ will be moved to ‘Saturday Morning Comics’ and Sunday’s posts will feature an entirely new segment, that I’ll reveal when I’m ready to implement it.  In other news, another addition to this website’s features will be the introduction of my webcomic series, Universidaze.  This webcomic follows the footsteps of a couple of college kids as they study, party, and experience college day to day, which is very much of what I’m doing right now.  A preview is down below.  In addition to that, the format from 2 posts a day will increase to 3, which will feature the addition of something I’ll call: ‘Banana Oatmeal’, which will generally be a link to an interested website I’ve found posted in the morning for the early risers.  We’ll still be featuring the reviews, character profiles, articles, etc. so don’t worry!

That’s all I have to say for now.  I’m coming back baby, and I’m coming back with a vengeance.  Can’t wait to see you guys in the near future.  Good luck and happy holidays!

I know I said I would be returning sooner, but it turns out, I’m enjoying my vacation a little bit too much to start writing and posting again.  So like I said earlier, expect us to return in full force come January 9, 2012.  Can’t wait to see you then!

Happy Thanksgiving From Bananafeed!

I couldn’t really think of any Thanksgiving movies off the top of my head, but the closest thing that comes to mind is when Joey sticks his head in a Thanksgiving turkey from Friends.  Anywho, do something crazy this weekend besides stuffing your face with food.  As for me, I’ll be spending time with the family on the 25th, and then be heading back to Atlanta to watch the Jackets take on the Georgia Bulldogs.  Go Jackets! And to Hell with Georgia!

New Favorites Section!

If you haven’t already noticed, the bottom right of the side bar has featured a couple of my favorite articles.  At the beginning of each month [welcome November!], I’ll change them up to keep them fresh.  They’re there for any new visitors who haven’t seen all of my posts to get the cream of the crop in hopes that they’ll return.  It just makes for easier facilitation without the visitor having to click through weeks and weeks of posts they’re not particularly interested in.  Anyways, enjoy!

Does Anyone Actually Like the Friday Banana Trees?

I’ve been going over my website stats over the past couple of weeks and there’s isn’t a strong reaction to them, nor is anyone hitting the links I put.  So I’m thinking of abolishing the Friday Banana Tree in favor of Friday being another day for more articles/lists/real content.  I don’t think I have a strong enough following to get many opinions, but if I make a change, at least know I considered ya’lls opinions first.  So instead of a Friday Banana Tree this Friday, expect another article.

We’re Back!

I tried to hard to find a clip of how Parks and Recreation Season 3 opened with an awesome ‘we’re back’ montage.  So I settled for the above promo.  As promised, Banana Feed has returned today, a little early than September 12, but this is simply a preliminary thing.  You’re regular broadcasting will return Monday.  I’m three weeks into school and I’m beginning to feel settled in again, settled enough for me to spend hours on my laptop writing about TV, Movies, and Entertainment News.  Now is an absolutely perfect time to get started again with the beginning of Fall TV.  If you haven’t noticed, we have a new banner, and an updated picture of Banana Feed’s mascot, Banana Movie Buff [handdrawn by myself].  Anything to keep my fanbase happy with the most aesthetically pleasing visuals.  In an attempt to stir up the grand reopening of this site, I’ll try to keep up with current times and post through the weekends for the next two weeks or so.  I’m really excited to get started again, let’s make this semester the best.

Banana Feed is On Break

Georgia Tech is starting again this year and I’ve got a full load of courses. That means no more time for compiling obscure lists or watching entire television series in one sitting and writing reviews on them.  I promise to return September 12, 2011. (The week It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns and one week before NBC Comedy Thursday)  By then, I’ll have a bunch of cool stuff for you guys and maybe then I’ll break that sacred 100 views in one day.  I can dream can’t I?

Anyways, keep watching movies/tv.  If anything, watch enough for the both of us.  I’ll see you guys soon.  Bye!
