My Take
Pitterpatter from Milliennialxperiance wrote a piece on remembering the time when Xanga was the big social media interface. Being in the target demographic noted, I too was in middle school during that time. It was neat seeing how someone else thinks back to their own childhood and in PitterPatter’s experience, especially seeing as how she moves past it by essentially telling us that we’re better than our middle school selves. I too hated middle school for being that young wasn’t as kind to me as other kids, seeing as my braces, glasses, and ignorance about hair product made me socially inept. But that doesn’t stop me from going back and looking at what all my old friends did and why I chose them as friends in the first place. It’s overall a neat thing to run back to Xanga and simply see how much you’ve grown. And like she said, “come back to the present and start getting ready for Monday, because you’re fabulous and important now”. Words well said.

Thank you for the reblog, Patrick! I’m glad you feel the same way. It was pretty cool for me to go back and see what my friends were up to back then, as well. I found a lot of things I didn’t even remember were still around (but of course, they were on the internet, so they are). I hope you’re having a great weekend.
