A couple of days ago, I posted a routine 11:00 EST article regarding the Spring TV Wrap Up Ceremony. Little did I know, I would get freshly pressed which is every bloggers wet dream because it allows us to live out the dream of people actually giving a sh!t about what we’re talking about. Naturally, a massive influx of commenters arrived ranging in variety and domain names. Today, I’m going to take a break from the norm of talking about movies, television or video games, and kinda go meta here. Obviously there must be some sort of motivation that forces a user to take the time to comment on an article. Replies range from single sentences to well written anecdotes. Each have their own sense of opinion and style and I found rather humorous. This article is designed to make fun of user cliches and norms. I’m sorry if you get caught in the crossfire, but remember I’m making fun of the social norm and not you. But when it comes to blogging, all press is good press. Wordpress. [LOL]
The Cheap Advertiser Who Didn’t Even Bother Reading the Article but Commented for Free Publicity

As a blogger, I like to think that we’re all cheap and thirsty for views, so we resort to tacky and shameful advertising to meet the quotas our self-esteem requires. I frequented a number of dumb, generic, and probably bot produced comments that were quicker to give a link to their blog than to write a meaningful statement. Here’s your advertisement you greedy basterds. I linked you all in hopes you come back here and see the shame you’ve brought upon yourselves.
Even fellow blogger versipellusfenris even pointed out the stupidity in responding to one of the posts complimenting my ‘pictures’. Ha! Classic versi-pellus-venus-crenus-bersi-fenris….jk. I don’t actually know you.
The Long Time Frequent Visitor Lost in a Sea of Strangers
Violators: Technically No One
Long time blogger friend On Life and Stuff has been one of my first followers and I’ve cherished her company ever since this blog first started out. To this day, she frequently checks in on some of the articles I post and shares her opinion with me and I love the back and forth we have. Amongst the frenzy of traffic that occurred yesterday, she posted on one of my articles and it got sucked into the void between “lilijuju” and “my spanish translator” when trying to comment on one of my Game of Thrones Reviews. I unfortunately didn’t find out she had commented until later after I looked back, and I felt bad because I tried to make the comments that mattered to me more of a priority.
The Impassioned Replier Whose Response is as Long as My Article

Well some people truly are passionate. One way to definitely get my attention and visit your blog is to write a long response that merits a miniature applause. Well I don’t actually applause at the screen, but I’ll click your website and check your about me to see if you’re interesting. Regardless, I got some pretty impassioned responses. Some supporting my claim, others reputing it. I respected all replies given they were respectful to my opinion. Regardless, I appreciated everyone who gave their time in responding so wonderfully.
The Lovable Foreigners

I’m always surprised with how many non US citizens are on wordpress and they constantly remind me that tv programming is not the same as it is here in other parts of the world. That’s why it gave me a warm feeling in my belly when they say thanks for helping them filter through what television show they should watch next.
The Quickie
Violators: Everyone Else
Great post. Congrats on Freshly Pressed. I agree completely. Haha, what do you expect me to say to that? Of course I didn’t respond to those, and while I do appreciate taking the time to post those dozen or so words, I’m sure a simple ‘like’ would have sufficed just fine. But these were legitimately 85% of my comments, which I’m actually thankful for or else I’d be spending all my time responding to comments rather than writing new articles.
Thanks again everyone and stay posted!
This article was as entertaining as the original.
I’m shocked I caught your attention. Incidentally, I’m an expat living abroad, rather than a foreigner, but these days “lovable foreigner” is a great label in my eyes so I’m taking it and running with it.
Well, I feel prettyyyyy, oh so prettyyyy… no, wait. Wrong song. What I mean to say is, thanks for the shout out in turn, and I also love discussing with you. Nice and original post, my friend!! 😉
