I’ve never been more excited for a game than the upcoming sequel to 2009’s runaway hit Borderlands. Combining RPG and FPS shooter elements to a quirky styled game made an excellent stew of a game. Leveling up and variety of guns made the staying power and the mayhem of fire fights made the fun. Despite owning the game for a couple of months now, I’ve made it a goal to finish the first one by killing Crawmerax the Invincible before the September 18th release date. As we wait though, the developers Gearbox Software has been slowly trickling out information to satiate the rabid fanbase. And it looks like it won’t disappoint. By giving the game a better story, varied environments, and face to the villain, all the main problems seem to be already have fixed. And by adding even more guns, crazier enemies, and new classes, we might be looking at Game of the Year right here. I’ve consolidated a lot of the media Gearbox has released in this post, be sure to check it all out.

The Constant Source of Information
Bordlerands wiki has been my constant source of information. I nearly check it everyday for news on the game. Check it out if you’re bored and keep an eye on that news feed like I do!
The Other Trailers
Gearbox Software so far has released 3 trailers. I’ve included the Wimoweh one above. The other two are below. One includes special inclusion of the game’s antagonist Handsome Jack, while the other was the Launch trailer provided nearly over a year ago. I literally watch them everyday to get amped.

The Classes
With 4 new classes to play with [and an additional 5th coming soon], there’s so much reason to get excited. I played primarily Mordecai in the first Borderlands, but I really want to get my hands on Axton this go around. That turret looks nasty and I was definitely disappointed with Roland’s turret in the first game. But I’ll definitely also be checking out Salvador, Maya, Zer0 and Gaige when I get the chance. I’ll have multiple files where I’ll be playing with different people [an online profile, my roommate and I’s profile, and my other friend’s and I’s profile, etc.], so I’ve got at minimum three different chances to play, meaning I’ll be able to get a taste of majority of them.
Who’re ya’ll gonna play as?
The Gun Manufacturer Ads
Gearbox is also going viral by releasing fake Gun manufacturer ads for the gun makers in the game. As you know, Borderlands is all about the guns. I’ve included the three they’ve released and included some of Mental Mars’s fanwork as well. I love how stylized each of the guns are and it’s mentioned that manufacturer of gun will be far more distinct when you fire and look at it than before. I’ve also included what makes each manufacturer unique above the rest.
Vladof – Rapid Rate of Fire, the Longer You Hold, the Faster It Goes
Maliwan – Bring the Heat! or Corrosion…or Explosion…or Lightning…or Slag?
Tediore – Don’t Reload Your Clip! Just Throw the Gun Away!
Torgue – Shooting Rockets Like No One’s Business
Jakobs – Shoot as Fast as Your Trigger and Pull
Hyperion – We’re Better than You!
Dahl – Living Customers are Returning Customers, Get the Gun that Keeps you Alive
Bandit – Watch Out for Loose Nails…on the Handle
In Conclusion…
Get as pumped as I am. I got my stuff preordered and I have no tests slated for that week. As I mentioned in this week’s newsletter, I’m planning to schedule some planned maintenance. If it just so happens to be the same week Borderlands 2 is released…well let’s just chalk that one up to coincidence.
I am SO EXCITED for borderlands 2, I even preordered it over the summer!
Ahhh me too, I’m all pre ordered and ready to go! If you’re Playstation Network, email/message me your PSN username so we can play online!
